Bayer Leverkusen 1 - 3 Juventus

A win against a team who did the double over us last season. We knew that we held an advantage over them in terms of squad strength and we looked to exploit that by going all out attack against them.

We expected a C tactic but surprisingly they played E, which gave us TA and we took the lead in the 3rd minute as F_Wirtz notched his 10th goal of the season.

Leverkusen switched to N and quickly took control of the game and we were hanging on. With 10 minutes left of the first half, the hosts were level after a C_Morris goal and we were back to square one.

The reminder of the first half was back and forth but with 1 minute of the half left we retook the lead and headed into half time a goal to the good.

The second half was more of the same, back and forth with both teams having spells which at times we were holding on again but with less than 20 minutes to play we doubled our lead through substitute S_Coates and we saw out a 3-1 win on the road.

Statistically we were by far second best so we got away with one here today. Good game Ant

Atletico Madrid 1 - 1 Real Madrid

This was a rather cagey and certainly very tight affair for the second Madrid Derby of the season with the end result reflecting how the game was played out. We took the lead through Doku on the half hour mark and then with the home side changing tactic briefly and levelling during that same short period the game got the fairest result without a doubt.

Roma 2-2 Fiorentina

Another day, another point against one of the better sides.
We had to work hard for this one, and didn't really deserve it, but we will take it!
We were also privileged to witness Roma changing their tactics for us, going E not P!
They scored early and I feared the worst, but Suso scored against the run of play just before half time to level it.
Chilwell scored his second to put Roma back in front, but the late charge and goal from sub Lasme earnt an away point.

Positives - We moved up a place, woo!, Marmardvili had a good game, and finally got back to 25, Suso played well.
Downsides - We just sold both goal scorers! Mancini picked up a booking and ban.

Atletico Madrid 1 Real Madrid 1

Against a full strength Real side riding high at the top of the league this is probably a point earned than two points dropped. A shot count of 9-9 produced a fair draw for both sides. Atletico have traded blows with the top2 in recent games and influenced the title race.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We did enough to get a point but fall back a bit in the chasing pack".
