      Newcastle United 4 - 2 Everton

The perfect start to my temporary role at Newcastle United. We knew Everton were struggling and down towards the bottom of the league table which led us to opt for an attacking stance.

This totally backfired on us as we were 2-0 down after just 12 minutes. Everton switched to E at 1-0 which gave us TA but they doubled their lead against this and they tried to shut up shop by playing D. We switched to P in an attempt to get back into the game.

The game looked to be getting away from us but 3 goals in 8 minutes before half time turned the game on it’s head and we went in at half time leading 3-2.

In the second half, Everton came at us from the 61st minute and I felt like we were hanging on but 5 minutes into stoppage time we added some gloss on the result with a 4th goal from a 4th player to seal the 3 points.

Statistically we were the better team by far so deserved this result. Good game Dave.

      PMR from caretaker manager Andy Banks;

”A win is a win, but this one was a real thriller. Our opening tactics in this game backfired on us as we were in a deep hole early on, but the lads showed a lot of character to turn things around late on in the first half.

Once we scored one the game and momentum swung our way and it was over for Everton. They came at us in the second half but we were still the better team and we added another goal late on.

Id previously mentioned that the club hadn’t scored enough so far this season so to score 4 in the first game puts a smile on my face, but this is just a start. We have to keep this form and momentum going into our next game.

      Thank you.”

Southampton 6 (six) Liverpool 0 (zip)

Absolutely incredible game. First 20 mins Saints didn't have a single attack, they then have a man sent off but their 10 men suddenly start pinging them in from all angles. They then go down to nine men and still keep scoring!

Horrific day for us both in terms of the result and the fact de Jong got sent off and now misses 3 games and Mudryk picked up an injury and misses 2 games. Gaz's dream of taking Millwall into the cup final just got a lot more realistic

Southampton are a good side and we knew it would be a tough game but honest to god. Anyway well played to them but we'll write it off as one of those esms specials.

          Watford 2-2 MANCHESTER UNITED

A pretty disheartening result. We controlled the game and for most of the second half, we played against 10 men. We thought we'd settled the tie once the second goal went in but such is football and Watford rallied to score 2 goals in the last few moments of the game. We deserved more, and to be honest we know we should be killing these games off but these games and moments will pop up from time to time. Thankfully other results around us went slightly in our favour so we remain on top.

We go again on Monday, we're still unbeaten in 9 now but we want to keep extending that run.

              Chelsea 0 - 1 Barnsley

One game we are knocking Real Madrid out of the Champions League deservedly so, and the next game we lose at home to Barnsley. Our season has been too inconsistent in the league, but somewhat to be expected as we use the season to build our team. We will take it as a compliment that Barnsley rocked up, well, like a rock with the big D and did a job on us fair and square although if that disallowed early goal was given it likely ends up a much different game. GG Ant.

Tottenham Hotspur 3 Sheffield Wednesday 1

Engels fired the Owls into an early lead but from there on it it was pretty much one way traffic and Spurs hit back with three goals to win the points.
A 19-6 shot count produced a fair outcome result wise.

Caretaker manager Simon Marsh added "Soundly beaten out there which puts a further nail in the coffin. Its going to take some going to even provide a chance of staying up".

Good news for the bank manager as finances have more or less doubled to £6.7m taking a bit of pressure from that side of the game.

Good news on the playing minutes
Danilo is down to 26.57 minutes needed per game.
Wendell is down to 13.50 minutes per game
Kaminski has completed his minutes and signed a new one year deal.
Amos has completed his minutes and signed a new one year deal.
Hogan is still the main problem needing 36.71 minutes but this is significantly reduced.

Confidence is growing that all players will now be retained but at a detriment to being able to play the best side.

                  Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Arsenall

After a few games of trying we finally pick up a much need three points but to be honest, its very harsh on Palace to lose a game in the 94th minute. We had more possession but in terms of shot count, it was all about Palace and our keeper having a decent game.

We know Lee sets his sides up well and has done for many a season and its proved to get much over on him but today we managed to get something from a game maybe we didn't deserve to but it makes up for the last few where we have lost when we deserved more, good old ESMS t its very best.

                  Played Lee.
