Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Obviously we would be expected to win games like this one but these kind of games have been known to trip good teams up and so we are relieved to get past it and job done. A total of six goals scored from a variety of players across the team so that was another plus. Tougher tests to come.
Great performance from the lads, in this must win game at the bottom end of the table.
We had to make a few changes with the sales of Coutinho and Ayling, and suspension of Karsdorp, but the lads who came in played well, with Pedraza, Zeze and Suso all looking fresh and needing minutes. Suso got man of the match for his display, including the early goal. It was a dominant display in all honesty, and Casemiro and Guirassy got the other two goals.
The team look a bit more solid and confident, so hopefully we can start looking up the table rather than down, though we face a strong Roma side next, looking to get back on track themselves.
Seemingly a now routine win over Bayern Munich. Bayern come playing C as we knew they would do so we matched that (As they probably knew we would too) and we didn’t waste time in taking control of the game as ESR had put us a goal ahead just 11 minutes into the game.
Half time came and went with us still leading 1-0 but the second half started with a bang for us as Joao_Felix doubled our lead shortly after the restart and we were cruising.
We switched up to P at this point but Bayern never changed all game.
The visitors pulled a goal back at the end of the game but we held on for all 3 points.
Statistically we were very slightly better than Bayern in a very poor game with few chances. Good game JB
Just as Atletico were threatening good form and good results it was two steps backawards as they managed to lose another game that they won the shot count. A 9-13 overall count despite being own to 10-men after 78 minutes should have been enough for at least a point but too often performances do not get results.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "Frustration again as that pegs us right back with Real Madrid next up putting us under pressure. We lose Cristante for the midweek cup game. We are playing well enough to finish top-four but not getting what we deserve. All we can do is go again and keep pegging away".
