Red Bull Leipzig 1-2 SHAKHTAR DONETSK

The top of the table clash and we shocked the favourites.

We missed Gyokeres so tried something different initially, and the long ball did work until Red Bull changed their tactic. Once they started playing possession they over muscled our route one and we trailed as half time approached. Once we got to 60 minutes, we changed tactically getting more bodies up the pitch by using the bench to get the win and Ahmada came on and scored 2 goals. We changed the game with those changes, that just gave a little edge as the tie went on and it turned out to be a perfect tactical plan on the day for sure,

It's a huge result and we now take top spot, it's unbelievable simply put and no it's not rock and roll football from us but every place counts for the coffers and the future of the club. Of course, 16 cup finals remain to ensure we stay as high as possible

Villarreal 4-2 Benfica

Nice to start managing Villarreal with an emphatic win. In all honesty the scoreline should have been greater but our finishing was wayward at times. We move into the playoff spots as a result and will be looking to maintain our position there. The Yellow Submarine are a good outfit that is ageing a bit in defence, if we can lower the age there and have a good campaign then it'll be a job well done.
