    Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 MANCHESTER UNITED

Well, I thought we was on for a decent result but another injury left us playing the last third of the tie with an unplanned squaddie on the pitch to see out the game, looks like he might get a run out next week too. Anyway, before that, we knew Spurs didn't have the back 5 option and this week they tried to get a few extra bodies up the pitch as an alternative, which we thought they'd do given the options they had available and we managed to find the early goal and settle our game down. After that we scored a second from the spot and I though we'd kick on. But tehy reacted straight away. After that when we switched back to playing on the break we had the game and it felt like our 3rd was knocking, and ultimately it came for us.

After we lost Asprilla, as mentioned Spurs then went all out attack and we struggled to contain them at times, we allowed them a second goal and then held on to make sure we didn't thrown away another lead.

I thought we deserved the win, we lost momentum once the 11 rater came on and I'd say we're full value for the result and we're very depleted for Mondays game, more and more goes against us and thankfully we've managed to keep the results coming.

We sit top of the pile, which is very, very surprising given some of our results. We are not excited at all, as we know we have a lot to do to stay here, with 18 games left.

      Blackburn 1 Liverpool 1

C v C so it was never going to be a classic. We respect Blackburn and the job Tony is doing there, they have the best defensive record in the league and they regularly prove themselves to be masters of grinding out results where they have very little of the play.

We got our noses in front through Mudryk and it was a disappointment to see them equalising as I didn't really feel they were creating very much. Midway through the 2nd half our GK went off injured and I thought here we go again but 1-1 is how it stayed. 3rd time this season Onana has been injured which is incredible really and so it's back to relying on our back up on Monday.

It's starting to feel like the 2 Manchester clubs are flexing their muscles and everyone else are dropping points left, right and centre.

Played Tony - at the very least I stopped the run of victories you've had over me for the past decade or so.

        Crystal Palace 1 - 0 Chelsea

Bit of a pisstake result here as we more than double their amount of shots (12-23) away from home, yet walk away with a loss. Started with the E verses the expected C, which did come, and we did score but the goal was disallowed and we couldnt find another way through. Chalk it off as a bad day at the office, and onto the next one.

          Spurs 2 United 3

Steve summed it up pretty well and United had enough quality to take more of their chances - we competed all the way as usual though and we’ll get stronger again next week

            Arsenal 1 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday

It is not clear as to what has happened to Mike Bradwell. Did he resign, was he sacked? Maybe in the coming days we will find out more but Bradwells last game in charge of Wednesday ended in a creditable draw at title chasing Arsenal. Perhaps an undeserved point but a very grateful one.

So after 20 league games Wednesday have appointed Simon Marsh as caretaker manager at the club..........so what do things look like.

Finances - total disaster with just short of £4m in the bank. Nothing really that will enable immediate team strengthening.

League position - total disaster 20th place in the table and 8 points from safety. Miracle required to stay up from here.

Player minutes - total disaster. Whilst the main players have more or less made their minutes the fringe players have not. Danilo 36.55 mins per game is a dilemma. Wendell 16.22 minutes per game is a headache and Hogan 42.06 minutes per game is downright disgusting. Its all a bit of a mess with 7 fringe players still needing minutes making staying up even harder due to a weakened line up needed to be selected.

Marsh commented "Lets be honest its all a bit of a mess at the club. I am not one for accepting relegation and the club somehow needs to keep fighting. I will do my best for the fans".

              Blackburn 1-1 Liverpool

probably a game neither of us wanted to lose, more than either of us wanted to win. Liverpool definitly had the better of the play and we were somewhat very fortunate to come away with a point. Despite my personal form vs Graeme, it's never an easy fixture and his league position and quality of team he has built shows that. We face off again two more times this season and hopefully we have a much stronger back line and keeper to help build on our first half of the season.

Well played Graeme, you were more deserving here bud!

                Arsenal 1 - 1 Sheffield Wednesday

We have to look at this as two points dropped in all honesty. We set up to face what we have known them to play in the past but it was a totally different Sheffield Wednesday side and despite dominating the game, it looked likely that we could still be playing now and not find the winner. We took the lead but really should have pushed on and secured all three points especially being at home so we have to chalk this off and look forward to the next game.

The second half of the season now upon us, a change of Captain with Joe Gomez taking the armband, minutes have nearly been secured by all squaddies that need them meaning we can now fully focus on keeping the pressure on the sides around us.
