Juventus 0 - 0 Fiorentina

A bore draw between two teams not looking to lose this game playing C vs C.
Fiorentina are struggling atm but their position in the league HAS to be a false one considering the strength of their team and with this in mind, knowing we'd likely face a 7 man defence and a C tactic, we opted for something similar rather than giving away TA like in previous rounds by playing P or A.

Nothing happened in the game and perhaps we should have opened up a bit in the second half but it wasn't to be.

We were very slightly the better team but we didn't do enough to win the game, good game Neil. Good luck in the fight for survival.

Barcelona 1 - 3 Real Madrid

We played a cautious game here and make no apologies for doing so. Barca are a good side and capable of upsetting any team in this division despite what their manager will have you believe. They set up a certain way and stuck to their tactics hoping to trip us up but we disappointed them with our set up. An early goal for us was cancelled out by Barca later in the first period but two further goals gave us the three points. The home teams slightly more adventurous play saw them aim more shots on our goal than what we did theirs but a higher percentage of our shots being on target in comparison helped to hurt the opposition.

Juventus 0-0 Fiorentina

A hard earnt point on the road for Fiorentina, who seem to do well against the top sides.
Juve pussied out it has to be said, so scared of the likely Fiorentina counter that they changed tactics, and it ended up being a countering stalemate. gg Andy
There were good games for Militao and Cresswell at the back, and a Sanches did ok on his debut to help shore up the defence.
So at halfway we sit in a disappointing fourth from bottom, but hey, we did say our aim was to stay up, and so far we are on target!
We welcome back Boadu from suspension next week, and there may yet be further transfer activity

Napoli 0 - 0 Atletico Madrid

A tale of two sides countering with the home side playing only one striker ensured a very low shot count of only 5-3. Neither side could take one of their few opportunities and so a 0-0 draw ensued. This game would see the referee blow the whistle to the half way point in the season and one in which Atletico would be 08th in the table.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "Its been a bit of a grind playing catch up after such a poor start to the season. If we can continue the recent improvement we could climb a few places up the league table. We have made a few more changes so let see what we can do in the second half".
