Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Didn't give a care for this game, we were too far out of Europe and just threw in the last league sheet.
We got countered for most of the game simply put and the A against out 3 man DF was a field day for Inter. I basically saw this as a minutes tie for some at best but a pointless game for us to begin with.
We've been shocking in Europe simply put, despite not having the rub, results matter and we've not gotten them and conceded far too many goals.
Where oh where has this Juventus been all campaign?
We threw caution to the wind a bit here, expecting C from Leeds, we played P and early on it looked like that decision might may off after out of favour striker S_Gimenez put us 1 goal to the good just 7 minutes into the game. We stuck with P while the visitors switched to A and immediately scored to make it 1-1.
Leeds stuck with A (Possible sheeting error?) while we were still with P and within 10 minutes we were back in front through M_Simakan. This lead lasted longer than the first but not much longer as Leeds drew level on 23 minutes with Oshimen scoring his second of the night.
It felt like a back an forth game, with both teams scoring and creating plenty of chances but we went ahead on 33 minutes through N_Gonzalez and that's how it remained.
We added two more in the second half through Tadic & Rais to round off an impressive night in Europe for the first time this season.
Statistically it was dead even in terms of possession & shots but we brushed Leeds aside so I'm certain Tim will be furious with this result and I don't blame him one bit, but it's about time we got some luck in this competition. Good game Tim.
We thought we were on our way out of this competition this evening hence us starting both Rais & Tadic but if I've done my maths correctly, our fate is in our own hands and a win in R6 will see us through unless Leeds batter Real Madrid, but Burnley beat us in R1 so we won't be taking them lightly.
A cautious start to the game by both teams and more so the home side ensured a very slow paced encounter particularly in the first half when we got the break through just before the interval. Burnley eventually opened up and we then shot into a three goal lead before the home side got themselves a consolation. The result guarantees us qualification and puts us in prime position to top the group.

On a side note, check your maths again AB
It should read unless Leeds beat Real Madrid. Don’t let me down Ian
Facing the best team in the game on paper, we decided to pick the best tactic verses them and stick to it whether up or down. It seemed to work as we took the lead through Firminio on 28 minutes and it was only a late 84th minute Lacroix equaliser that foiled what would have been a deserved win for us. 15 - 9 on the shots in the stats back that up, but we will take the point that qualifies us for the quarter finals of the Champions League. This meets part of the clubs pre seasons objectives for me, so I will mark it down as a success, and hope that we can push further and see what can happen in this tournament.
