Feyenoord 1 - 5 Real Madrid

An early goal for the home side gave them a boost but it was very much a rear guard action by Feyenoord right throughout this game and so goal scoring opportunities were never easy to come by, hence this was a day that we had to be clinical with our chances in order to get a result. Credit to the lads though because clinical is exactly what they were today as despite having a rather subdued game of football served up, we ran out comfortable winners in the end. We also had three defenders all chip in, as Dest, Van Dijk and Min Jae all got themselves on the score sheet with the two front men Doku and Rodrygo also in on the action. Not a thriller today but a very good result non the less.

Celtic 0 - 2 Juventus

We came up against a struggling Celtic team, who I'm sure many expected more from this season, and in a recent media article I'd read it has taken them over 12/13 shots n average to score a goal so I expected a 3-0 win for Celtic but Mati used his same sheet it seems from the past few weeks. Start L etc and switch to P straight away so our C tactic was heavily influenced by this.

Given that we had TA we didn't take control like I'd have liked and we went in at half time at 0-0 with little happening in the first half.

Into the second half and we took the lead with the games first action and Celtic went on the hunt for a goal themselves with an A tactic while we stuck with C as we expected the A from the hosts.
Celtic dominated the next 15 minutes but couldn't find a way through and then after some back and forth we added a second 5 minutes from the end and we shut up shop to see out a 2-0 victory.

Statistically Celtic were the better team but we took our chances. Good game Mati.

Leverkusen 1-4 Fiorentina

So, it is possible to win again! Lightning does strike twice, etc. etc.
It's been a long time coming, bar some decent Euro performances, and very nice to finally get some more points.
I hope this isn't the nail in the coffin for Neil, as he's doing a decent job rebuilding Leverkusen.

We were a bit more adventurous than usual, and it came off, with Coutinho having a great game, with a couple of goals, it was nice to see Boadu have a decent game, and uprate too. We had some good possession, but looking at the shot count, we were fortunate to be a bit more clinical than them on the day.

Typically however, we have just swapped out 3 players, and two of them had good games, though Palacios will miss his final game with us through suspension.

We keep slightly ahead of the danger zone, it would be nice to win again on Friday against Napoli to put a little bit more daylight below us though.
