Good performance which got the win it deserved this time. Not all peachy though as it will cost us our FA cup run. Keeper out vs man United = “we are concentrating on the league”

      MANCHESTER UNITED 2-1 Aston Villa

Steady display but again from being 2 up we let a goal slip. We did enough over the tie for sure but we know there's more to come. We need the wins, we know we've lost too many points and we have got a big run of results in us, just some seasons the engine takes longer to start.

We finally have a fully fit squad too for the next game. Feels like an eternity ago we had that.

        Cardiff City 1 - 3 Manchester City

Cardiff City were left heartbroken after a late collapse saw them lose 3-1 to Manchester City at the Cardiff City Stadium. The match, which saw assistant manager step in for Matt Rose, who was absent celebrating his birthday, ended in frustration for the Bluebirds as they conceded twice in the final minutes.

Despite a strong start, Cardiff fell behind in the 31st minute to a goal from H_Kane. N_Osborne brought the home side level in the 56th minute, but the team struggled to maintain the momentum. Questions will be asked about whether Matt Rose’s presence on the touchline could have made the difference in such a tight match.

The decisive moment came in the 86th minute when a mistake from R_Allsop gifted N_Goodman a goal, putting City back in front. Cardiff’s hopes were finally dashed when J_Stones added a third for Manchester City in the 88th minute.

Assistant manager’s disappointment was palpable, and the fans will undoubtedly wonder if the outcome might have been different had Rose been there to inspire his players. Cardiff City will need to regroup quickly as they look to bounce back from this disheartening defeat.

          Spurs 1 Everton 1

Frustrating game for us, god knows how/why Everton are getting away with that DM but De Gea is tough to beat. We need to strengthen up top soon. Still punching though!

            Leicester City 1 - 2 Arsenal

A result in which I think we deserved going by the stats but another game in which we made hard work of getting the three points. Going a goal down on the half hour mark saw us enter the second half with a few half time changes completed and goals from Werner and Luiz Diaz picked up a valuable three points on the road which sees us move up into third place. Just three points separate us in third and seventh place so still so close and with a massive North London derby on Friday night, hopefully we can keep the pressure up on Spurs who sit above us in second.

            Played mate.

Some transfer news coming from the club is that a deal has been agreed with Man Utd that will see both Ansu Fati and Bukayo Saka sign for the club later this week with Asprilla and Luiz Diaz moving to Old Trafford.

              Burnley 2 Liverpool 4

After a run of poor results we really needed a win in this one and we managed to put in one of our best performances of the season certainly in an attacking sense. Admittedly Burnley really went for it which played into our hands and they certainly had us worried when they pulled it back to 3-2 but thankfully Rashford netted his 2nd later on to make things a little more comfortable.

It's so tight in the table a few wins can really catapult you up the table so we have to try and put a run together. De Jong had a fairly quiet debut but his arrival gives us one or two options that we're keen to explore tactically etc

Meanwhile we've agreed a deal which will see Andy Robertson leave later in the week for a much younger albeit inferior defender. Not ideal but with Hummels, Mbabu and Jordi Alba all 30+ we felt it was something that we needed to start to address.

Next up the mighty Man City in the FA Cup quarter finals.

                Chelsea 2 - 1 West Ham

West Ham came for a point with the big D, and took the lead against the flow of play. A first half goal from Kayode cancelled that out, and Lamptey put us ahead on 52 minutes. West Ham stayed with the defensive work even when behind, perhaps hoping to keep it tight and snag another goal. We ended up the worthy winners and I was suprised after to notice that West Ham played 3 squadies of 14 and 15 rated, so this game must have been part of their squad management plans for the season. None the less, we pick up the 3 points and climb to a season high of 4th place. GG Todd.
