BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
On paper or certainly at least on form this game was probably our biggest test yet. To give this game the respect it deserves we probably played our most cautious game to date, opening up big time against opposition such as we faced today could easily have ended in disaster, hence the more conservative approach. From start to finish it would be fair to say that we just had the edge and by the hour mark had gone into a two goal lead with both goals coming from midfield for a change. The latter stages did open up a little and that was when Juventus pulled one back but we adjusted and stayed calm.
A tough one to take after the run we’ve been on but one which we deserved to lose.
Travelling to the reigning champions is always tough and this was no different. Both teams tried to take a cautious approach with the C tactic and after RM bounced from C to E to P they took the lead on 36 minutes and we were chasing the game.
We switched to P, the hosts switched to C thus giving them TA and by the hour mark it was 2-0.
Both teams went all out attack and with 10 left to play we pulled a goal back but Madrid went back into their defensive shell and we didn’t find a way through for a second goal.
Statistically we were second best and deserved to lose. Good game Ian
Another poor result for the purples, and we can't even say we didn't deserve it.
We had the counter, but it didn't seem to help much, and Dortmund went ahead around half time, and despite changing things around we couldn't find a way back into the game. gg dude
Positives - Marmardvili stopped it being worse than it was
Negatives - Poor performance, couple of bookings
Make or break game versus Lisbon next, big changes will be made if the poor run continues
