    Arsenal 1 - 2 Barnsley

Last game we sat here and posted about winning but not deserving it at all and this time is the revers, we played well and deserved the win but didn't mange to get the win over the line which is disappointing as we should be getting something from games like these at home but we cant be to frustrated after the performance and result in the last game as we really got way with one and this was our reward for that.

Good to see Werner now getting among the goals, the reason why we bought him but we do have to be more clinical in the final third than we have been today.

We were hoping to be able to release some transfer news after the final whistle but a testing week in the game off the pitch regarding some integrity or lack of from some quarters of the game has meant the deal is still some way off right now but we are hopeful it will be completed.

Well played mate, best of luck for the season Ant.

      MANCHESTER UNITED 4-1 Sheffield Wednesday

It feels a bit more like it, and we did control the match for large periods, but with Wednesday missing a player or two they opted for a back 3 set up which probably allowed us to expose some openness at times. But, we could only play what was ahead of us and although we did finish the first half 3-1 up, there was periods where the changed tactics did give a bit of joy to the owls.

The squaddie Skrabb wrapped the scoring on the day where he cemented his minutes, one job down I guess so far. But it's 3 needed points, we haven't had enough rub of the green already this season so hopefully now we'll kick on and start claiming back the points we need.

        Palace 1 Spurs 2

We were brave and went E away which worked until they equalised, and then supersub Williams came on to seal the victory. We keep marching on, massively exceeding expectations and definitely having more than our fair share still - cheers Lee, gg

          Leeds 2 - 0 West Ham

Good win to hold our place at the summit. Todd has got West Ham ticking the last few seasons, so not an easy game at all. I knew the C was coming again and thought I’d match them up, which appears to have worked well. I think our extra firepower got us through.
          Let’s keep this going Leeds.

          played Todd.

I wanted to go E, but 5-2-3 P I was expecting. Back to the drawing board!

              Man City 3 - 2 Chelsea

Despite getting pelters in the press this was a good performance away from home. A close game away to the best team historically in the league and a draw would have been fair going by the stats with the shot tally showing 21 - 20.. Chelsea are certainly not getting the rub of the green but we're experienced folks at Chelsea. No panicking over an unlucky 23% start to the season.

Hmm do we carry on with our tight aggressive style or go full champagne Charlie for the remaining 77% of the season? It's probably best if we at least give it another 2% before we decide. GG Nick.

                Everton 0 Liverpool 3

At last we send our supporters home happy after a game. Switched things up from the failing passing approach and set out to attack from the off with Mahrez supporting the 3 front men and we were quickly rewarded with an opener from Andy Robertson.

It felt like we were in control of the game but 1-0 is never comfortable so there was certainly relief when Guirassy got the 2nd in the 73rd minute and the same player added a 3rd in injury time to put the icing on the cake. With 11 shots on target to 2 I don't think there's any doubt we got what we deserved in terms of the 3 points.

We have to try and build on this and get some momentum going - which is easier said than done when our next 3 fixtures are a double header against Arsenal and then a trip to Man City.

Anyway this was a small step in the right direction and a derby win is always pleasing

                  Cardiff City 0 - 1 Southampton

Cardiff City endured a tough match against Southampton, narrowly losing 1-0 at the Cardiff City Stadium. Manager Matt Rose saw his side create several chances, but they couldn't find the back of the net. Early opportunities for D_Zapata and N_Osborne were thwarted by Southampton's goalkeeper, Jose_Sa, who had an outstanding game. Despite dominating possession and attempts, Cardiff were undone by a 58th-minute goal from D_Kulusevski, who capitalised on a defensive lapse.

Cardiff's attempts to equalise, including efforts from M_Gotze and T_Lemar, were continually denied by the resilient Jose_Sa. Tactical changes and substitutions by Rose after conceding the goal, including the introductions of J_Justin and J_Brekalo, added fresh energy but failed to change the scoreline. The match saw a flurry of bookings, reflecting the intense and physical nature of the game. Manager Matt Rose will undoubtedly seek to improve his side's finishing ahead of their next fixture.
