Napoli 1-1 Real Madrid

The home teams intention was to do a holding job on us and that's what they achieved. After nudging ahead they then shut up shop but we got back on level terms before Napolitano reverted back to their original tactic and overall their ploy worked. It maybe be worth us mixing it up a bit more as teams are easily able to read us, we will see.

Sevilla 1 - 2 Juventus


After Sevilla beat PSG earlier in the week we were cautious of our hosts but fully expected the L tactic so we opted for P.

We expected to control the game but 20 minutes in and we were still level and 4 minutes later we were behind.

We switched to A and 7 minutes later we were level heading into the break.

Into the second half and after a quiet start, we eventually took the lead through substitute D_Tadic and went on to see the game out to record a 2-1 win.

Statistically we were second best today and got very lucky to take all 3 points but we’ve been on the opposite end of this so we’ll take it.

PSG next where we’ll get nothing so we look forward to the game after.

Roma 5 Atletico Madrid 3

The gods have spoken once more.They hated Atletico for the entire of last season and they continue to hate them. Roma with 9 goals from their first 7 games suddenly score at free will. Add in another own goal and another injury and its just one big pot of bad luck.

Simon Marsh commented "Its becoming a bit of a joke how bad things are. 2 players off injured and we have now had 8 games missed through injury to our best defender, best forward and now our best midfielder. Every shot on our goal feels like its going in. We added so much more steel into the side after the same was happening last season. Cristante a 21-tackling midifelder along with Olmo and Havertz who are attacking midfielders but double the defensive ability of those they replaced and still our goal seems 20 metres wide. The statistics do not lie. Whilst we are pretty potent at one end scoring with every 6.88 shots (the 6th best in the league) we are conceding at an alarming rate of a goal every 6.06 shots, which is the second worst in the league. It was the same in the first half of last season and then we began to improve. We had hoped we had turned the corner but alas no we are back where we started. Crap academy players. worst free player in the league, crap academy abs, negative midseason event, we have been working in quicksand for the entire year".

Barcelona 3-2 Fiorentina

The travelling fans were hoping for the good recent form to continue, but it was not to be, as Fiorentina put in one of the poorest performances of their season so far. Pedri was allowed to dominate for the home side, and they deserved the win.
Both sides started with the same formation and tactics, and early goals were exchanged before Fiorentina made some changes, however nothing appeared to help them take control of the match.
Perhaps the manager to was too optimistic with his selection, and should have tried to counter Barca, but he felt there was potential to boss the game, which turned out wrong.

Positives - Diaz nets another two, to take his tally to 10 in 11 games, Suso had a good game as sub
Downsides - 0 points, 3 bookings, and a slightly dodgy keeper performance.

It wasn't pretty but it was nothing short of showing nothing but respect to Ian and his side. Hes been a quality manager for years and im pleased hes been recognizes with it with a top calibre job, As Ian said we had one tactic today, keep it tight and try and sneak a win. Id have taken a point before the game so we are happy.

Monaco 2 - 2 PSG
An injury in the first minute to the player due to be swapped for EBH if we went behind stopped the substitution occurring. My fault that i have never anticipated this scenario, but it wont happen again. With a higher shot count, better GK and better FWs, i would still have expected to win this game, but again, first minute action against us, has cost us the game. Failure to win in back to back league games isnt great, and teams are starting to pull away at the top.
