Match day 2 brought another away game, this time a trip to Premiership side Watford.
Both sides started with a passing game, and Fiorentina looked the dominant side, and deservedly took away the 3 points.
It was the Liverpool connection old and new combining for the first goal with Szoboszlai setting up Coutinho, and shortly afterwards Luiz Diaz netted the second. It looked like it could have been more, with Diaz getting man of the match for his display, and it was a bit of a surprise when Watford got a consolation goal in the 91st minute. good game dude.
After not finding a win for ages, it is now two on the bounce for Fiorentina, can they take that form into the league game against Barcelona on Friday?
Cardiff City earned a well-fought 1-1 draw against Bayer Leverkusen at Cardiff City Stadium. Manager Matt Rose saw his side take an early lead through D_Zapata, who scored in the 17th minute with a sublime strike. Despite a spirited performance and numerous attempts on goal, Cardiff couldn't extend their lead. Bayer Leverkusen's R_Gagliardini equalised in the 30th minute, levelling the score.
Rose's tactical changes throughout the match aimed to capitalise on Cardiff's attacking momentum, but they were met with resilient defending from Leverkusen. Despite dominating with 19 attempts on goal to Leverkusen's 10, Cardiff couldn't break through again.
"Our lads showed tremendous effort and created plenty of opportunities. We just need to be more clinical," Rose commented post-match.
The draw sees Cardiff continuing their positive form and looking forward to building on this solid performance.
