Post Match Reaction- Round 6

Napoli 0 - 2 Juventus

Up against a team that we’ve struggled against the last few seasons but with the club under new temporary management, we hoped for a better set of results this season than in previous ones.

We felt like Napoli would play L and they did so our P gave us TA in this one which helped us establish a lead on 26 minutes after we had a goal rules out 9 minutes earlier.

We went in search for a second while our hosts looked to minimise the damage it seems and they took TA with C vs our A.

The first half ended 1-0 to us and the second half looked similar to the first with the game being even and us adding a second in the 63rd minute which saw us take all 3 points.

Statistically it was a very even game and Napoli will feel hard done by that they didn’t earn something from this game.

Bayern Munich 3-1 Real Madrid

Can't complain at the scoreline here in all honesty, Bayern played a positive game from start to finish and did very well out of it. I'm pretty sure we win this game more often than not if replayed but that's the way it goes, on this occasion we lost, end of. I'm sure JB will climb the table with this side, they are better than their League position suggested.

Celtic 0-0 Fiorentina

Another draw! shouldn't really complain as we are not losing I guess..
We tried changing things up a little with a 532N, and it was a fairly even game where the keepers were the top performers.
We created some chances, but looking at the stats Celtic shaded the game, so I'm happy to come away with a point.
Unfortunately drawing doesn't get you many points, so we are starting to slip down the table, hopefully a win will come soon!

Atletico Madrid 1 Ac Milan 1

Atletico season has started with a splutter again. Looking for a fast start this resembles the london marathon when the gun is triggered but then you wait an hour to cross the start line. This was a big game to gain some impetus and momentum but an average performance gave an average result. A shot count of 17-15 on the day could have been enough for the home side with a better goalkeeper and shooting skills but we cannot complain at a shared 1 point each.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "Its not the worst result but you have to win your home games to compete at this level. We cant win many games right now though in truth, all we can do is battle on and hope some luck starts to come out way soon but its a long time coming".

Barcelona 1 - 4 PSG

Another dominant performance against a team riding high. I cant remember the number of times i have told their manager that one forward doesnt often work, and if it wasnt for a moment of madness from my keeper, they would probably have drawn a blank here. We took an early lead, but got pegged back from the penalty spot, before Mbappe left the pitch on the half hour mark, reducing us down to ten men. We made a few changes and changed gear, Haaland put us in front just before half time, and doubled the lead not long after the restart. It was plain sailing from that point, with TAA getting his 5th of the season in the dying minutes.

An unexpected defeat for RM away at Bayern Munich puts us back at the top of the table. Hopefully we can hold on to it this time. Juventus seem to be the threat at the moment, and i suspect our game next week will be a top 2 clash.
