BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A very bad day at the office, stats wise we were never out of the game but our opponents were a lot more clinical than we were and put us to the sword. It was never going to be an easy game but i feel we made it easy for Arsenal today and they go home happy. We will have to be alot stronger than this moving forward and we will definitely be.
Feels a bit more like it as we managed a 4 goal lead before allowing a late consolation goal. With Burnley you never know what you're going to get and it's not the easiest to get the right set up. We started on the front foot and dominated the early chances, we went a head then despite countering our opponent they managed to probe a fair few chances. But after half time we got going and managed three further goals in a 5 minute window. Job was done really so allowing them a goal was a bit cheap on our part, although they did have a fair few chances in the game. Bukayo Saka ran the game for us today, his efforts are pleasing given we could've sold him preseason.
It is our best display so far and this is what we expect more of as we know we are capable of big things. We have the cup next, we need to win it no two ways about it but we do admit we have a fair few minutes we need to watch already having not been afforded the luxury of the first rounds minutes, abs and possible financial reward.
In a hard-fought contest at Hillsborough Stadium, Cardiff City emerged victorious with a 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday. Manager Matt Rose's strategic acumen was on full display, particularly in the second half. Despite facing a barrage of attacks from Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff's defence, marshalled by standout performer and Man of the Match, goalkeeper R_Allsop, held firm.
The decisive moment came in the 82nd minute when substitute J_Brekalo, after hitting the post, pounced on the rebound to slot home the winner. This goal, a testament to Cardiff's resilience and opportunism, sealed the match and secured three crucial points.
Rose’s tactical changes in the 60th minute, including bringing on D_Caleta_Car, M_Brozovic, and J_Brekalo, proved pivotal. These adjustments bolstered Cardiff's defensive solidity and provided the spark needed to clinch the victory. The win boosts Cardiff City’s confidence as they continue their campaign in the FFO Premier League.
Saw the counter attacking approach from Palace coming a mile away and tried to set up to benefit against it but this is FFO of course so expect the unexpected.
In truth we didn't perform well. That said it's absolutely staggering (to me anyway) that despite all the 'bonuses' we didn't have a single effort at goal for pretty much the first 70 mins. Clearly the buck stops with me but I think it says a lot about the game in general these days. Absolute waste of time putting in the research and trying to win tactical battles etc. Just play C.
All the best to Lee at Palace though. A good, solid manager that has done well for a long period of time.
Some result this one. The result is one thing but the performance was even better, from start to finish we absolutely hammered them, on stats we were a country mile clear. This is a very, very satisfying performance and one I hope can be a benchmark for the rest of the season.
I am hoping the work I put in over the summer to make us competitive is starting to pay off early and that it can continue. We are certainly looking good at the moment.
Up next is Leicester I think, in the cup. Same again please.
Played Nickers, hopefully we can challenge you again this year.
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
Saints are a good team and we just couldn't really get going in this match. We took the lead but was then pulled back level quite quickly, and after that the game was quite drab with not a lot happening. Felt like I was watching England for a minute. Chelsea are still unbeaten, but we need to start picking up wins and 3 points.
After defeat in the last round it was important that Arsenal avoided back to back losses and next up at The Emirates was a visit from Blackburn who are getting to grips with the new Manager Tony Ayre following Ryan Fields decision to leave Ewood Park at the end of last season.
The win did eventually go the way of the home side with goals coming from R_Bentancur, Y_Pino aand R_Sallai but no doubt Rovers will feel hard done by with the stats suggesting a more even game than the score line stated.
The Arsenal boss spoke after the game ;
" We had to make a few changes due to injuries mainly up front with Timo Werner not making the squad and at game three to have the injuries we did is a tough call but a massive result to put the defeat to Leeds behind us. Harsh on Blackburn if Im honest but a wins a win and at times you get them when you dont deserve them and today I think that luck was on our side ".
The match took place at Vicarage Road. Watford dominated the game, ending with a 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
Watford took the lead in the first minute with a goal from I_Sarr. B_Embolo extended the lead in the 46th minute, and young talent DM L_Hall sealed the victory with a goal in the 89th minute.
Now, let’s highlight the standout players from both Watford and Tottenham Hotspur:
Watford:
A_Rrahmani: Named Man of the Match, he was instrumental in Watford’s victory.
I_Sarr: Scored the opening goal, setting the tone for the rest of the match.
B_Embolo: Scored a crucial goal in the second half.
Tottenham Hotspur:
M_Boadu: Despite the loss, he was Tottenham’s best player, making numerous attempts on goal.
A_Hickey: Made several key tackles and tried to create opportunities for his team.
L_Bailey: Had a few promising moments but lacked the final touch.
Overall, it was a well-fought match with Watford taking advantage of their opportunities to secure the win. ⚽
