Spurs - conditional clash that meant at 2 up at min 70 you had no strikers so crashes the game

    MANCHESTER UNITED 2-4 Tottenham Hotspur

What a woeful start to our campaign, despite leading early we changed approach and despite us countering Spurs they managed to level the tie a few minutes later. We then lead again ourselves but in a flash despite again switching to counter we conceded. Then it just turned worse and Spurs managed to score two more, one in each half and overhaul chances. We will always get these results, for some reason we always concede goals but to leak 4 goals at home on the opening day is just not good enough at all.

But, we've been here enough over the years so get it sorted early and we can hopefully crack on!

      Chelsea 0 - 0 Crystal Palace

The kings of London dominated the game against fellow city rivals Palace with 20-6 on shots, and 10-1 on target, flipping between E and A, but we couldn't get that end product our play deserved i.e goals! Disapointing, should be 3 points on the board, but we will review and see what the next game brings. GG Palace.

          Liverpool 0-1 Blackburn

IT was not pretty but it was important to start the season with a win. We predicted what Liverpool would play with their limited resources and set ourselves up to prevent their strong attack but also create some chances ourselves.
As it happened, we managed to score with our first attack of the game, courteous of a returned goal from captain Mo Salah, we then just sat back in the hope of a quick break to add a second, as it happened, we offer very little but have a lot of gratitude to our keeper for the 3 points after he made 10 saves.

We didn't deserve the three points, but we will definitely take them.

          Good luck Graeme.

            Everton 0 - 5 Leeds United

In terms of a result and starting with a bit of momentum, this was a really good start to the season. 2 yellow cards and an injury to 3 of my defenders hints at picking up where we left off last season and makes me pleased I have gone strong with our depth this season, the squad will be needed with the amount t of cards and injuries that will predictably come our way.
Back to the game, we dominated and to be honest it could have been more. Some very questionable selections from the Everton manager and in all honesty it made it easy for us. We matched up P vs P, they went four at the back and played a 14 and 15 rater. It all served to make it a very comfortable opening afternoon for us. Much bigger tests to come but it gets us off to a solid start.

              Watford 1-1 Cardiff City

I'm immensely proud of the lads today. Coming to Vicarage Road is never easy, and Watford pushed us to our limits. They had more possession and shots on target, but we showed incredible resilience and determination to come away with a point.

The first half was challenging. Watford's B_Embolo scored from a well-taken chance following a VAR review, and they kept the pressure on us. However, our defence, especially R._Allsop, made some crucial saves to keep us in the game.

After halftime, we made some tactical adjustments and brought on fresh legs. Our switch paid off as T. Lemar scored a fantastic goal just after the hour mark. His determination and skill were evident throughout the match, making him our standout player today.

Despite conceding possession, our defensive organisation and key tackles, particularly from J_Vestergaard and O_Zinchenko, were pivotal. Zinchenko, despite picking up a booking, held the backline well. M_Harris also showed great spirit, though he needs to be more cautious with his challenges.

Overall, a draw was a fair result. We showed that we can compete against strong opposition and this point is crucial for our confidence going forward. The boys should hold their heads high and we’ll build on this performance in our next match.

                Burnley 3 - 4 LEICESTER CITY

Well I bet the fans went home happy from this one. Great entertainment.
It was end to end stuff in the first twenty minutes of the game with both teams having chances to open the scoring but it was the hosts who struck first.
Cucurella made a good run down the wing and his cross was met on the half volley by Kudus who's shot gave Areola no chance.
The first half continued in the same vein but the score stayed the same by a combination of wasteful fonishing and some good defending.

13 mnutes into the second half we levelled when Simeone scored. It was more than a bit fortunate though as his shot wasn't the best but for some inexplicable reason Agirrezabala let the ball slip through his fingers into the net. The lead only lasted 2 minutes though as Burnley took the lead when F_de_Jong scored with a powerful header from another good cross.
Both teams continued to have chances but it was Leicester that scored next. Sequeira played a 1-2 and placed an accurate header past Agirrezabala in the Burnley goal. 2-2!
Both teams didn't let up the pace and F_de_Jong was fortunate not to see red when he brought down Simeone when he was through on goal but the ref deemed it not to be a clear goal scoring opportunity and so a yellow card was the result.

Just when things looked to be settling down a crazy few minutes appeared in what was already an outstanding game.
P_Pogba put Burnley back in front when the Leicester defence gave him too much tome and space. This prompted Leicester to bring on an extra forward and go to a more attacking style and the impact was immediate. Straight form the kick off Musa, who had just come on, played a great pass to Torres in space and noticing the keeper off his line he produced a sublime lob to bring the scores level, causing the player to have a grin on his face as wide as the Cheshire cat!. A minute later the same player, and man of the match, Torres then provided a superb pass which defender Dunk got on the end of to send the Leicester fans wild and make it 4-3. I'm still not sure what he was doing that far up the pitch but I'm not complaining.
Burnley finished the last few minutes strongly but were unable to get themselves level.

                  Liverpool 0 Blackburn 1

A travesty of a result in all honesty, with 10 shots on target to 2 in our favour I think we can safely say Tony's mob were extremely fortunate to avoid a defeat let alone steal the 3 points. It's not a massive surprise to be honest, historically it's generally been the same that the wannabe Aussie spawns his way to a win against me and then walks about with his cock out here, there and everywhere acting like he's the reincarnation of Pep Guardiola when we all know he's just a jammy cunt.

Not the start we wanted and in all honesty if this is the kind of shitty luck we have ahead of us then it's going to be another forgettable season for Kopites everywhere.

Got to get a win against a dangerous Brighton side in the cup on Wednesday or this could be the shortest managerial reign in FFO history.

                    Sheffield Wednesday 1 - 3 Arsenal

The best way to start the season off by picking up all three points on the road away at Sheffield Wednesday with the thanks going the way of two of our recent signings, Kubo and Timo Werner who scored the goals to ensure we start with a win from a fixture that has proven a bit hit and miss for us but we got it right today for a change.

For some reason I expected Wednesday to line up with five at the back as they have done in recent seasons but the 442 they come at us with did cause us some issues but we stayed strong to start the season with a win but also very pleasing to see the players get going straight way with Werner rating up as a result of his brace.

Leeds United up next who got off to a blinding start after beating Everton reserves and with them being a bookies early favourite for the title, we expect nothing but a tough game from Tims side.

                    Played mate.
