    PSG 1 - 0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid entered the Champions League Final buoyed by their recent league success, having clinched their sixth title under Talbot in dominant fashion. However, facing PSG, the underdog status was undeniable, as styles do make fights, and 1 vs 1, PSG are the best team on paper as claimed by many.

Opting for our favored A tactic in a bid to seize an early advantage, we aimed to take control of the game, open up the variance tap and look to grab the important first goal. Unfortunately, PSG struck with the first action of the game which is always a bad sign when it happens to you.

Despite a valiant effort in the second half, including tactical adjustments to P try and counter PSG's expected N strategy in the 2nd half if winning, Real Madrid found themselves unable to find the breakthrough we desperately sought. Despite a late switch back to A for a last "Hail Mary", no results was yeilded, and PSG deservedly won to win a well deserved cup double.

The stats of the game was interesting, in that we had more passes than shots (12 shots, 16 passes), yet PSG didn't compile all that many tackles (6), which is an odd stat and not one we normally have in games as we usually have much more shots than passes. It seems like we just couldn't convert enough of the "chances" with our passes, to "shots". This cost us on the night.

While the outcome may have fallen short of my hopes, the disappointment was softened by the earlier record 6th league triumph, as strangely I did not feel all that disapointed at all. GG Ed, congrats!

      PSG 1 - 0 Real Madrid

A fitting finale to the season. The strongest 2 teams in FFO going toe to toe. Both teams had full squads to choose from, and both teams were going for the double, in what would be the sixth time both teams had faced eachother this season. On paper, PSG might have appeared to have a tiny edge, but the stats show that the spaniards only need just over 6 shots on average to score, compared to almost 8 for the french team. This appears to have be borne out in a comfortable title win and massive goals haul for Real Madrid. The Head to Head stats also couldnt be much more even with 2 wins to each team, and a single draw. With tactical advantage for the whole game still only worth about 0.6 goals, all the stats pointed to a draw and penalty shootout, and lady luck would certainly play her part in deciding the winner.

PSG managed to score with their first shot of the game on 4 minutes, and it was surely just a matter of time before the most lethal team in FFO got back on level terms. However, they huffed and puffed, but just couldn't find a breakthrough. The french team had Raspadori and the Georgian both on the touchline, waiting to come on after the equaliser went in , to try and add a little more fire power, but they were never needed. The highest scoring GK of the season, along with FFOs meanest defence, kept another clean sheet to hold on.

Over the tie, PSG had tactical advantage for 70 minutes, and Real Madrid for 25 minutes, so for the matrhematicians thats 45 minutes of tactical advantage, being worth approx 0.3 goals. This isnt really enough to warrant the win, and PSG can consider themselves extremely lucky. This is the 5th final they have been in, losing 3 (2 on penalties) and it is always down to who is lucky on the day, and on this day it was PSG.

Good game, and unlucky Steve. I am confident RM and PSG will dominate for the foreseeable future, so no doubt honours will continue to be shared
