Post Match Reactions - Play Offs Semi Final - Leg One
The first leg of two playoff matches between fourth seed Eintracht_Frankfurt and fifth seed Feyenoord ended in a 2 all draw earlier this afternoon. Frankfurt who has had the better of the two this past season beating the Tub boys on each of their encounters, the first at Deutsche Bank Park 2-0 and again at De Kuip 3-1.
Electricity filled De Kuip as spectators were witness to an enthralling match between two old foes. O_Idrissi got the ball rolling for the hosts in the 23rd. Frankfurt responded with two back-to-back goals, the first in the 58th by N_Fullkrug followed by B_Henrichs in the 75th. Fans having seen the same scenario during the regular season began exiting the stadium when low and behold out of nowhere, seconds before the 90th minute, D_Hancko off a pass from Melindo let loose a thundering shot that brought the house down and the match to a draw.
Shedding some light on the Tub Boys who’s form of late has been nothing less than atrocious, losing three and drawing four in their last seven matches. Buck’s post match message “the draw isn’t an improvement in form per-se for the club, but will undoubtedly provide a much needed boost in confidence come tomorrows 2nd leg encounter at Deutsche Bank Park”, also adding that “with the away goals not counting towards the final score, we still got a chance”.
