    Lazio 2-0 AC Milan

A disappointing game, where our lack of converting shots to shots on target and therefore goals was disappointing.

But for drum this win was vital, keeping him in the CL race, a dead rubber for us.

    good game drum

Congrats to SteveT and Real Madrid on the title, won at a canter in the end. Any team that can average better than 2.3ppg over a season fully deserves the title. We were well in the mix upto the half way stage but i suspect the decision to swap ESR for Raspadori and give the latter a lot of minutes contributed to our tail off. But, i dont think we could have hit 90 points anyway. EBH has had a terrible season by his standards, and has been overshadowed by Rodrygo - perhaps he is the new MVP of FFO going forward
At least we manage to hold onto 2nd and the CL seed, although knowing our luck with CL draws, we will be grouped with Roma. Speaking of Roma, they also had a very disappointing end to the season, rather the achieving the tenuous treble. Hope to see you back at some time, Derek.
Finally thanks to Nick for running the games

        Juventus 2 - 1 RB Leipzig

A key win if we want to secure 5th place which will go down to the final game of the season.

Both teams came to attack and within the first 18 minutes the games saw 3 goals, first from us on 13, then Leipzig pulled level 2 minutes later only for us to score what would turn out to be the winner just 3 minutes later.

Despite losing both N_Gonzalez & Joao_Felix to injury in the second half, we managed to see out the win. Unfortunately Gonzalez will now miss the final 2 games of the season.

Statistically we were much the better team so deserved the win, good game Gary.

          Dortmund 1-3 Real Madrid

Real Madrid clinched the EFL1 title with a commanding victory on the road against Dortmund, demonstrating their cheeky E tactic against the German sides D, and then C style.

Despite resting Rodrygo with an eye on the upcoming Champions League Final, Real Madrid's depth and versatility shone through as other players seized the opportunity to make their mark on the game. The attacking midfielders stepped up magnificently, each contributing a goal to the victory, with Sterling, Leao, and the ever-reliable Tadic finding the back of the net, tallying his 16th goal of the season.

This triumph marks Manager Talbot's sixth EFL1 title, a remarkable achievement that not only sets a club and league record but also holds special significance personally for the manager, particularly after facing skepticism earlier in the season from the likes of PSG and Roma. PSG posed a formidable challenge throughout the campaign however, keeping the title race tense until close to the final stages, which was more than could be said for the departing Derek Hughes and Roma.

As attention now turns to the Champions League Final, there's a sense of anticipation and determination within the squad. The final league match of the season at the Santiago Bernabéu against Champions League chasing Celtic promises to be a celebratory affair as Real Madrid lifts the trophy in front of their adoring fans. However, the manager's decision on the lineup for that game remains uncertain, with club insiders expecting Talbot to field a much weakened side against the Argentinian lead-Scottish team. Word is that Talbot has promised The Argentinian as much as long as Wednesday's opponent does not opt for a 0-1 and D approach.

            Atletico Madrid 4 Marseille 4

Huge game this one for Atletico and an all important three points needed against relegated Marseille missing 2 players. Seemed simple and with a shot count of 29-15 and leading 4-1 after 65' minutes it appeared a walk in the park.........only this is Atletico's season of chaos........ first a penalty to Marseille, next an own goal and then an 88th minute leveller from Brand meaning Atletico left the pitch dumbstruck with only 1 point. A draw that will prevent Atletico charge up the league and possibly means they will end up in next seasons DPT.

Marsh said "I keep saying this is typical of our season and then before long I find I am saying it again. Its a game we should win comfortably like many before this season. Its hard to see how a negative variance keeps on coming at us but the positive is that we can close this season very shortly".

Atletico entertain Lazio at home knowing a victory will see them finish in a minimum of 08th place and clinch a Champions League position that has been completely alien to them all season long

            Good game Euan
