"We are going up, say we are going up!"
The Leicester fans left the ground in full voice as other results combined with this narrow win mean that Leicester have clinched promotion.
Although it was never a forgone conclusion Leicester have been in the top two places for all but a couple of weeks this season and thoughts now turn to the championship title.
One win from the last two games is all that is needed, though 2 draws COULD be enough but West Brom are on a good run of form.
Leading scorer Simeone was suspended for this game which meant a chance for Curtis Woodrow to get a rare start and he repaid his manager with a Man Of The Match performance, including the goal that proved to be the winner in the 15th minute. H_Elliott created the chance with a pass inside to Woodrow but nobody expected him to shoot first time from outside of the area and the ball flew into the Brentford net.
The game was fairly even with tackles flying in from both sides although we did create a few more chances but the last 10 minutes or so was a bit more nervy than it should have been.
after a poor streak of results this was caretaker Marsh’s last game with Kaye set to resume responsibilities. The players gave marsh a great last match with their best performance of his 10 games and with 2 games left they maybe can now rise a couple of places.
marsh commented “I’ve enjoyed working with the young players despite the obvious difference in class between some sides. 10 points in 10 games was ever so slightly an improvement on the season played out before me so I was pleased with that last game victory. A fair few players are close to rating up and hopefully the club will be stronger next season after close season youth gains”.
