BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
"A win we needed, I knew how Rangers would setup and as much as I hate setting up the way we did, it felt like we had to try and give it a go as it was our best option, it paid off and we controlled the game from start to finish, more suspensions means we lose Jesus for 2 out of the last 3 games of the season, it means winning tonight was even more important, 3 games to go and 5 points inside the champions league places, it looks like we might just get over the line, a tough game at Bayern awaits us next"
Went for the arrogant “we are better, they have players out, just go A”, and although the stats were in our favour, the result wasn’t, so that tactic backfired.
8 points ahead of 5th with 3 games to go. We are almost there.
Still with the same 3 players out Madrid needed a win after losing at home to Milan last time round. Thankfully, a much better performance this time verses a similar strength team as Milan which just goes to show how random the game can be at times. Once again, Tadic demonstrated his prowess with a goal, further solidifying his immense contribution to the team with his 15th goal of the season. However, it was Doku who truly stole the show notching two goals to make it 26th for the season for him to surpass his 25 goal pre season target.
3 more tough games to go but we are taking it one game at a time, and next up is the ever improving Juventus, this time we will only be missing 2 players! Depsite perhaps disapointingly being behind Milan at this stage in 5th, their commitment to develop and build their players seems to be paying dividends and I expect that they will challenge the top order in the future with Roma being under new management next season.
Another shocking result for us but as previously stated we're more interested in abs now than results but this one still stings. We went all out attack and credit to Sociedad they came to play open football but after a back and forth first half it was us who took the lead with 10 minutes left until half time.
No tactical changes and no changes to the scoreline heading into the games final seconds, until substitute J_Forlin put the ball in his own goal in the 95th minute to earn Sociedad an unlikely point.
Statistically we were much the better team and should have been out of sight by the 95th minute. Ah well, a couple of players rated up and with 4 more in the 900's we could end up a fair bit stronger for the cup final.
An early Vinicius goal in the 07th minute was enough to settle this close encounter. A 10-6 shot count was just good enough for Atletico to take an important victory that puts them back into the top-8
Manager Simon Marsh commented "We just did enough on the day and gone level on points with Inter. With 3 games to go and 2 at home we have a decent chance of getting that top-8 spot. Monaco next up who have just come out of a poor run of form but who have pressure to play fringe players with a lot of lads likely to be released without game time, They could choose to go strong and ignore the minutes so we wont be sure of their line up".
