We got mauled to be honest. Tried the tempermenal E and I don't think we're quite good enough for that. We lead and once we changed tactic they levelled up before the break. Then second half we just got over run and we deserved nothing. Thankfully our goalkeeper kept us in it but no real positives today on the pitch but we are now 100% complete on minutes!
As good as it gets for on form Fiorentina, good performances all round from the lads, and a score line to match.
With other results going our way as well, it leaves up 3 points clear at the top and 7 clear third, so all to lose!
By being four up before half-time we even managed to take off both strikers, and bring on a 17 and 11 for minutes.
We someone managed to score two more after that, with Suso netting twice more for his hat trick.
Positives - Nunez double, Suso treble and shot uprate, minutes nearly done, results go our way
Downsides - Booking and suspension for Wijndal
Today's strategy for the visitors was to play cautiously with the hopes that their opponents A tactic would backfire. However, much to their fans delight Villarreal did not disappoint. An early attempt at goal by Villarreal needed VAR to decide if a penalty would be awarded, luckily for the visitors it was disallowed. With momentum on their side, Villarreal rebounded from the earlier decision and got the ball rolling in the 24th when A_Moreno was able to get by D_Hancko and knock one past keeper A_Muric. Feyenoord striker O_Idrissi stifled the elated home crowd in the 39th when he blasted a beauty right past the keeper, nullifying their opponents lead. The score would remain one apiece for the remainder of the match with the hosts controlling most of the play.
Frustration late in the match saw Feyenoords Q_Timber in the 78th and E_Gutierrez in the 81st get their names added to the referees booklet. The outcome, for Q_Timber will be a one match ban.
Before the 33rd round, the feeling around the RB Salzburg training ground was cautious optimism, the tactics and lineup looked solid. However, is took a single minute to dash the RBS hopes. A quick pass from Taremi to Mario and shot from the inside foot put RBS down very early. RBS never found an offensive rhythm and never scored. Salzburg had more possession, attempts on goal, and tackles but Porto had the skills when they needed. RBS Manager Thacker was bitterly disappointed. “The stats look we were competitive but we were never in it. We needed points today and failed to get any. “ Thacker’s contract status remains in limbo.
