PSG 1-0 AC Milan

I expected to be up against the giant monkey tactics and was not disappointed, how I try and plan for it is a completely different problem.

The game started very much in PSGs favour, but we worked our way into the game until Messi got sent off. That led to pretty much one way traffic except for a flurry of chances at the end of the game that probably had Ed sitting on the edge of his seat like George Foreman at a barbecue roadshow.

Real Madrid 5 - 0 RBL

They say everyone has a plan. Until they get punched in the face. That happened to RBL today, as another N was No problem for Los Blancos. Doku was missing for this one but he was ably deputised by Tadic who went on to score a hat trick. Tadic now has 14 goals, mostly from the bench, and has been an amazing bargain buy from Roma. Thanks for that deal Derek. Speaking of which, we have Roma next up and being away from home, it will give the fake galaticos a chance against us and we will need to be in top form to get a result. Barcelona 1 - 4 Juventus

A vital win for us in our season, with recent results not going our way Barcelona had the chance to close the gap to zero with a home win against us.

We set up with P while our hosts opted for the unfavourable E tactic. After some early Barcelona pressure, it was us who took the lead after E_Smith_Rowe notched his 10th goal of the season just 4 minutes in.

This meant we switched to C, thus giving up TA and letting Barcelona control the rest of the half. Despite being the better team, Barcelona couldn't make the pressure count and we went in at the break a goal to the good.

Into the second half and it was one way traffic until the inevitable happened, the departing R_Hojlund brought the hosts level just 10 minutes after the restart.

We were back to playing P and we started to get back into the game and quickly retook the lead on 59 minutes after ESR doubled his tally for the game. Back to being against TA and the same story, Barcelona being all over us but this time we doubled our lead on 66 minutes through a E_Camavinga strike before making it 4-1 late on after S_Gimenez scored yet again to continue his fine form this season.

Statistically Barcelona were the better team so Sam will feel hard done by to not only lose but to get battered in the process. Good game Sam.

Celtic 1 Atletico Madrid 2

Celtic went into this one with two players missing, a rarity for Atletico to play against this season. This was a tight knit affair with the home side playing long ball tactics. Atletico had yet another goal disalllowed but Van-de-Ven was not to be twarted a second time when he opeded the scoring. Celtics illegal signing Ben_Yedder equalised on 61 minutes but Vinicius restored the lead 2 minutes later. Atletico brought on some defensive players to hold for the victory. A shot-count of 13-12 overall meant Atletico were lucky to win with their more clinical finishing.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We edged a very important win for us. I felt confident with Celtic enforced into playing a 15-rater but we didnt quite perform as well as I would have liked. On the night that extra little quality shone through. Its amazing what a couple of victories does and suddenly we are challenging for 06th place again. If we can get another little run together then there is no reason why we cant finish the season on a high"

Barca 1-4 Juve

"Battered from pillar to post Juve were but its one of them days, we knew it would be up and down until seasons end and this is just one of those unfortunate downs, The Juve boss will have known hes got away with one here, but we did that earlier in the season to Juve with Celtic so its fair enough, with all the change we are ready for the end of season to regroup, hopefully its in the CL places, the end of season might also be enough to rid a particular salty manager of his shaker come next season, but with previous experiences, i dont expect that to happen".

"expected Giant monkey tactics and was not disappointed". LMAO 45 minutes of E and 48 minutes of A. Whats wrong with that. our visitors also changed tactics once.
The match report read like one way traffic and i am surprised we only scored one goal. Our conversion rate has been our major issue this season, and on reflection, perhaps the purchase of a 20-21 on auction was a bad move. Might need to be reconsidering that one. The sending off probably helped us, but i would have expected to win the game anyway.
I was critical of AC Milan earlier in the season, questionning whether they would remain in the top 8, but it seems they have proved me wrong, and i expect them to hang onto 5th place.
