    Atalanta 1-1 SHAKHTAR DONETSK

2nd game where it was a minutes game and again we got rolled over but somehow we got a draw against a very capable side.

We didn't deserve it. This was the second throw away game, maybe one more to come, but it wasn't about the result, the sooner we get the minutes the sooner we can play the stronger players and try and get the form back from only a few weeks ago.
It's not great writing off games, and accepting defeat having to play the squaddies (we do that normally anyway), but it's part of what we have to do and we'll do it until we need to now as we're more than happy with the current season, given out resources.

Huge result in our push towards the playoff places and we could have easily scored more but another great performance by the opposition goalkeeper.

We are now one point behind Frankfurt in 6th and it's been a great turnaround as we are the best in-form team in the league over the last six games.

        FC Porto 3 - 3 Feyenoord

One of the more exciting matches for Feyenoord this season ends in a 3 all draw at the Estadio do Dragao this afternoon. The tub boys opened the scoring early in the first half when J_Bagan’s cross landed perfectly at P_Goncalves’ feet; converting it for an early lead. Porto, not to be outdone would go on to score two back to back goals in the first half for a 2-1 lead at break. The hosts would add another early in the second and go up by 2. With 38 minutes remaining the visitors never say die attitude came to fruition when midfielder E_Elmas lessened the gap after taking advantage of a loose ball and driving it past the keeper. The tub boys would use their lifeline and score the tying goal in the 67th from a Q_Timber shot that beat K_Nakamura.

Bad news for Feyenoord, their best player for the afternoon P_Goncalves, will not be joining the club the Sunday after sustaining an injury in the 79th minute.

Good news P_Goncalves and teammate O_Idrissi are neck and neck with 17 goals each, both are in the hunt for club top scorer.

          Fiorentina 0-0 Benfica

Bit of disappointing result for the lads in purple, as they had hoped their European form would continue into the league.
Both teams started C so maybe a no score wasn't too much of a surprise, but looking at the stats, the home side were unlucky not to win, with 58% possession, and 10 shots on target.
Benfica have a good side, and are in a false position, so maybe it's not too bad a result, and with the top two faltering too, nothing much is lost at the top.
The positives were a clean sheet for Owusu Oduro, and a decent games for Nunez and the outgoing Zaniolo
Next week we can welcome back Wijndal from injury, but will be missing Zaniolo, who was sold in a speculative move, but leaves the side week in midfield in the short term.
