BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A boring game really, and it was one where we looked to get minutes in..... Well that was the plan had goals gone in but at 0-0 we didn't really plan too much.....
Just a dull quiet game but given Fiorentina are an EFL 1 team in EFL 2, we'll happily take a point. Another good note our own player was their best player!
There's a bit of a gap between us an the top 6, but that's not our fight deep down but it's always pleasing to see little Shakhtar where we are.
Silence quickly filled the stadium when defender J_Rasmussen asked to be sub-ed one minute into the match. Buck and club-mates alike seemed a little distraught as they gathered around the fullback. However, concern on teammates faces quickly turned to relief, reassuring everyone in attendance that it was nothing more than a false alarm. The club physician straightaway qualmed any further misgivings stating that the defender was fighting a 24 hour bug and he’d be available for the clubs next match.
Things seemed to turn for the better immediately following the incident. Feyenoord striker O_Idrissi would do something in 45 minutes never accomplished prior to in Feyenoord FFO history. The forward would go on to score four back-to-back goals, surpassing P_Goncalves’ previous weeks hatrick by one. L_Tousart tried closing the gap in the second half for the visitors by scoring two goals in a span of three minutes, but it would not be enough on this day. Halfback Melendo added another for the hosts in the 83rd with K_Behrens closing the scoring for the visitors in the 88.
A high scoring affair that saw the tub boys edge the visitors in ball possession and attempts on target.
Good news for Feyenoord striker O_Idrissi, who has jumped to fourth spot in the EFL2 scoring race.
As Steve said, not the most exciting game of the week
It went pretty much as expected, with Shaka looking to keep it tight, but we didn't do enough to break them down.
Fiorentina made a few changes from last week, with new teenage keeper Owusu-Oduro, defender Chistensen, and Enzo Fernandez all making their debuts.
The stats showed the away side could maybe have done enough to win, but weren't clinical enough to make their shots count.
The main positive was the clean sheet for the new keeper, a big money purchase in the auction. It was quite a gamble selling captain Benitez for a teenage replacement, will it pay off? He has masses of potential certainly.
Next up is a European QF to look forward to
