Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Two men suspended meant I was limited in terms of formation and had my hands tied a little bit in tactics, so my aim was to solely make life difficult for Banks’ boys.
An early goal gave us the advantage and saw juventus switch to attacking and quickly equalise. 1-1 back to the start. It was a game that never really got started with lots of back and forth but few chances created for juve.
very happy with the 3 points and the double over Andy, in what is our only cup final match this season. Maintains a 9 point gap on the champions league spaces and we push on.
With a lot of hard work done to get back into champions league contention Atletico have to win these games. With home advantage and tactical advantage throughout and a 3-0 lead against a team reduced to a 19-rated goalkeeper it looked like a great 3 points. Unfortunately the soft belly returned once more and when Atletico cave they do so emphatically. 3 quick goals conceded and it’s a bad result.
manager Simon Marsh commented “we may have had a few more tactics on the team sheet if we had full communications up and running but then we really didn’t expect to implode that badly. We have some really hard games coming up so keeping pace with those just above us is going to be a test”
auction news - Atletico. Badly failed in the auction going for the same player as others and outbid by 80m.
Another poor game for us, AC came in missing 2 key players so I should have seen the C tactic coming but I wanted an open game.
They took an early lead, we switched to A and got back on level terms immediately but they found another just before half time and we never really looked like getting anything out of this game.
Statistically AC were the better team today.
Our league form is suffering atm and we need some big results in some huge games coming up. Good game Jason.
The Talbot Express (™ Drum) smashed it's way through another failed N attempt from an opposition team. This time we were ready with a passing approach showing we can mix it up well and keep the plebians guessing. Was a great day for RM. Win by 5 goals. PSG lose. Roma only draw at home. We also secure the signature of one of the best defenders in the game Min Jae, for a princely sum. GG Aaaron.
We fell behind immediately but went on to record a comfortable win although to be honest the final score is very harsh on Marseille, there wasn't that much in the game. Christensen coming off the pitch all pleased with himself following a goal and man of the match performance to be told he's been punted to Fiorentina.
Favourable results for us elsewhere sees us have a healthy gap over 6th place but I know how quickly things can change. Again we've done a couple of deals this week that weaken us but bring our age down a bit and boost our bank balance so we just have to hope future results aren't affected too much.
Tough match against Atletico next, a very well run club.
At home we always fancy our chances and we know how good PSG are but I have always found the games have been closer or we have took points attacking teams like PSG, Madrid, Roma etc is more competitive for us then hiding behind a C waiting to be beat, we have taken some big scalps and taken some big losses with the approach but I felt we could take them today and we did just that. The game was very open but it was PSG who struck first and if I’m honest I thought crap we were onto a hiding but we equalised soon after and kept knocking on the door in a game we matched one of the best sides in the game but we got our reward on the 81st minute with Dani Olmo causing bedlam in the stadium with a well taken goal to give us a big scalp and the three points.
