Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Disappointed to not have walked away with more than just a shit load of yellow cards and a point. We dominated the game and deserved 3 points but De Gea was a brick in goal.
Winning these sorts of home games is key against such strong opposition so it goes down as a lost opportunity. Good game Drum and see you on the return
Given what Hollis thinks of me - was gutted to score only 5 here.
Surprisingly we hit the top - but with the relentless PSG on our tail it'll be tough to stay there.
Even more surprised to see the fading lights of Madrid still flickering in 3rd. Could Talbot finally show what he's made of and challenge the big boys? (Pretty doubtful)
Really good game with both sides having a go. Inter got themselves ahead immediately and continued to play with attacking intent throughout so fair play to them it definitely made for a good open game. We pretty much played 523P with a switch up to attack later on seeing us grab a late equaliser through Mahrez. I think GS will feel a bit unlucky and Inter probably did just about shade it but we're more than content with a draw.
One more game before the half way point of the season (against a good Monaco side) and we're doing ok. The top 3 already looks pretty set so it's going to be a battle between the next 8 or 9 sides for the 5 remaining Champions League spots and we need to make sure that we are one of them come the end of the season.
A good win against a poor team on paper, but they've been known to cause teams above them issues.
We felt like our attackers vs their 22 rated GK would work in our favour if we went A, but we thought that vs Real Madrid and they whipped us 5-0. This time it was 5-0 in our favour.
Leipzig came to hit us on the counter as we assumed but we punched through their backline within 7 minutes and with that the hosts switched tactics to E and we had TA and within 5 minutes we thought we'd doubled our lead but the goal was ruled out.
We did double our lead on 27 minutes and Leipzig changed again to P. This didn't help them either as it was 3-0 on 35 minutes and we were cruising.
3-0 at the break, and within the first minute after the restart, we were 4-0 up.
A second disallowed goal came just before the hour but we got our 5th on 73 minutes to wrap up an impressive victory on the road.
Statistically we were the better team, not by 5 goals but we'll take it.
I said this game wouldn’t be like the Champions League fixture midweek but well it was, we probably deserved to win this game more than the last game as we created more chances and had more of the ball, it was freakishly almost identical to the last game where we led the game late on but an 88th minute Barcelona goal tied up the game for both sides to take a point. We both came attacking again we figured Barcelona would go P but we fancied an open an attacking game as we normally do and never thought about going counter, the game was action filled with many abs I’m sure Barca will be happier than us though as they leave with a point, we have drawn so many in the league, one of the teams with the most draws which is scary as we are one of the teams with the most shots on goal so we are doing well up top but conceding too many at the back, gg mate
Good performance from the lads today! Rodrygo and Sterling on fire with sublime goals. Defensive resilience and a solid team effort to break down the initial D. Unfortunate injury to Varane, but the squad stepped up. Three points secured, fans deserve it! Next up is a tough game against Celtic who are always improving. Hala Madrid!
Finally the Atletico faithful saw their side score some goals this season as the team looked to carry on their improved league form. An open game saw both sides with plenty of chances. For a long time Atletico led by only 1 until the floodgates opened.
Manager Simon Marsh commented “A great victory for us and we are showing real signs now of reversing the horribly unlucky start to the season. We find ourselves up to 9th place and only 1 point outside of the champions league places which seemed an absolute mile off not long ago. If we can go to Latino and win we will be in the top8 come the half way point. We have hope of attacking over achievers Sporting Lisbon and Ac Milan in the second half of the season although we know we have a difficult fixture list with most of the top sides away from home”
