It was a tense game, we dominated but didn't get the safety net of a second goal and it made for uneasy reading. But we did everything but get the second goal, it was a good effort but we should've and wanted to win by a few more goals than we did. We've one match left of the first half of the season in the league and need a win in Europe so we're making things too hard for ourselves as we near the midway point. It's Arsenal on Monday where no doubt Darren will want revenge for the cup game the other week.
Today though, we got 3 points and we sit top, so that's all we can ask for.
Another very close and tight game that ends in defeat. The away side got the early goal and so we was always chasing from that point with goals from Diaz and Martinez just pulling us back to within a goal on each occasion. Second half of the season can't get any worse, can it?
We seem to either score five or concede five lately but today we were on the right side of the five against with a win away at Wolves that although we own, the stats do prove it to be a bit harsh on Wolves who had a player sent off which certainly helped our cause. At four one up at half time we were in control of this one but Wolves did cause us problems but we were strong at the back and took our chances up front with a double each for Chiesa and Correa and another for Isak who is proving to be a really good signing for us with his tally now at seventeen for the season at the half way stage so a great return for him and a good second half could see him beat our record scorer Jesus' tally for the season which he is on course to do.
