Feyenoord’s showing in the first half against Marseilles left doubters in the cold. The tub boys with the early first half initiative gave les Phocéens an early scare as the duo of E_Bullaude and M_Berry combined for a little tiki taka in front of keeper G_Bazunu that almost resulted in an early lead.
With Marseilles losing confidence gradually Feyenoord made the best of it, taking the lead in the 20th, a perfectly timed pass by E_Elmas was all that O_Idrissi's needed as his strike towards goal deviated of a defender into the net.
Relentless pressure from Feyenoord would see O_Idrissi’s second effort at net in the 34th minute take an unlucky bounce off the post. It would take an own goal in injury time by the tub boys for Marseilles to draw blood.
The match would take a turn for the worse after Marseilles evened the score. With the tub boys showing signs of uncertainty and Marseilles regaining their form, les Phocéens would go on to score four unanswered goals in the second half to take the match.
