BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We made hard work of this one on the scoreline. We lead in the first half and slipped up to let Wolves but reacted straight away. Goals from the same duo midweek, Philips and Porro the difference today. We got what we deserved but we need to be more ruthless in games like this.
We keep having tight edgy scorelines and one day one of these will go against us so we have to kill more of these games off.
But it's 3 points and we're still trailing City, but we'll just keep going.
It didn't take long for the home side to take the lead, just 3 minutes but we didn't have to wait much longer before levelling the game back up, 13 minutes. All in all nothing much between the two sides and it looked to be heading for a draw but it was a late goal by Leeds that decided the three points.
Well we got exactly what the stats suggest we should have got and the only consolation we can take is that it wasn't by more goals that we lost by. Injuries to two key players and one going off injured early on didn't help our cause but in all honesty, I think it was one of them games where no matter what we tried we would have lost as we were second best throughout and offered very little which is rare for us as we usually come back and have a go but they kept us quiet. Certainly one to put behind us and focus on the next.
A fully expected defeat given we had 3 key players out with Zappacosta, Frankowski and Brozovic all missing through injury or suspension which meant we had to try something totally new with a 3-4-3 system that simply didn’t work. Credit to City they were ruthless and we had no answer.
How we didnt win this game is beyond me, as we were dominant throughout the game. Ive been in the game long enough to know for sure you cannot predict any result at all, so we shake hands and move on. Good game as always mate.
