Barcelona 1 Sporting Lisbon 1

Stupid from me really, we knew exactly what to expect so having set up well and got an early lead to then change tactic was daft on my part. Lisbon more than merited their point and we're probably fortunate we didn't lose, especially after we went down to ten men later on.

A missed opportunity when we look at the other results at the top end of the table but when you do stupid things you get what you deserve. One point from our last 3 home games is a recipe for failure.

Another tough game next with a trip to an improving Juventus. No Van de Ven for us and I'm already thinking of moving on this real life Spurs donkey.

Real Madrid 1 - 2 Lazio

Disapointing result. Can't buy a win at the moment. We edged an even ish game, took the lead through a Rodrygo pen, but Lazio came back into it and ended up winning 1 - 2. GG Drum. Good result for you, I did say you had a great shot at the CL spots.

Leverkusen 1-1 AC Milan

We never got going against my old club and felt lucky to walk away with a point. Whilst reading the game I often forget who my players were as I recognised so many of them, not an enjoyable game.

Rangers 0 - Monaco 3

Fabulous result for us against a Rangers side we traditionally struggle against.

2 goals in the first 10 minutes, Jonny opening the scoring to make up for his own goal in the last match and then Awoniyi getting his third of the season to move level with Jonny to give us a strong start to the game.

We had a penalty ruled out by VAR less than 5 minutes later and we kept the score at 2-0 to half time.

Couple of changes in the second half and then Jovetic scored a great solo effort with 15 minutes to go and at that point I knew I could begin to relax.

We had more of the ball, Rangers had more shots but struggled to get too many on target with Gollini equal to everything so a deserved win for us overall.

Good game Burrows, good luck for the rest of the season.

Dortmund 1 Atletico Madrid 4

Its not often teams risk playing with 3 defenders and remarkably both sides did leading to an entertaining game. Atletico edged the shot count 22-27 and finally they got their penalty box work right with some clinical finishing and good goalkeeping. Muani who had scored 1 goal from 56 shots suddenly got 2 from 9 in this game. With 8 of the top 10 failing to win this was a small chip away at the chasm that somehow needs to be bridged over the rest of the season.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We are so happy tonight that we got the win and some goals and moved away from danger. If we can string a couple more results together we will hopefully move into the top11 and then start to try and apply some pressure on the top-8. Next up for us is Celtic, a difficult game to plan for as you are never quite sure which players are still at the club!".

PSG 1 - 1 Roma
The mightyRoma turning up with 7 defenders and playing a cowardly C. Whatever happened to the Roma way and free flowing football. Instead they were happy to shut up shop, play for the draw and be happy with 4 shots. We bossed the game and it would have been a travesty had we lost. It was looking like a bore draw was on the cards so we tried to make the game a little more interesting on the hour mark by changing a few players and upping the pace. Frustratingly, 3 minutes later,against the run of play our visitors took an undeserved lead. Were we about to lose the leagues only unbeaten record? Not on your nelly! After switching to a tactic we rarely use, Man of the moment, Erling Haaland popped up with an equaliser 2 minutes from time to share the spoils. Talisman, Haaland was awarded his fourth Man of the Match award for his priceless 13th goal of the season. On reflection i consider this 2 points dropped rather a point gained. We should be winning games with these types of stats, but ever since our goalkeeper temporarily hit 25 he appears to have developped a superiority complex and think he only needs to turn up. He has had three successive games of negative abs, and is in danger of being transfer listed.

Next up is the attention seeker, with his first cup final of the season against the big 3. Despite remaining top, our opponents host us on the back of a draw against a relegation team, so we have seen the ESMS gods can be cruel. Win or lose, its where we are at the end of the season that is important.

PSG 1 1 Roma

What a heartbreaker!

We were leading with 2 minutes to go thanks to Mbappe's clinical shooting skills. One chance and one goal. That's why we paid big bucks for him.

Why Haaland got Man of the Match is beyond me. But after wasting 4 easy chances he finally scored as we looked to be heading for a famous victory.

Other results went our way so we can't complain too much.

Madrid continue to be a fading force with their best days behind them. The AC implosion has begun. Lisbon roll out their bland version of football each week (only 15 goals in 12 games? Glad I don't have a season ticket).

Leverkusen 1-1 AC Milan

Had a big game mid week and were unlucky to only come away with a point. We may be finally starting to turn the corner in form. Good Game Jason.

Juventus 3 - 0 Napoli

A quality win against a team that we should be beating, despite their ability to shock the bigger teams.

We wanted to really go at Napoli and so we did, giving up TA which we expected.

After Napoli were the better team for the first 30 minutes, we started to get a grip on the game and we got our reward on the stroke of half time. We switched to P as we headed in a goal up at the break.

Into the second half and we continued to be the better team and we doubled our lead just past the hour mark, thus changing the tactics to C vs P and now WE held TA.

We added a 3rd on 78 minutes to wrap up a fairly comfortable win.

Statistically we were much the better team and deserved the win. Good game Chris.

FC Barcelona up next, a team we ALWAYS lose to. Yikes.

Bayern Munich 2 - 2 Inter Milan

Meh, even game, both been quite negative in tactics but we opened up in second half of the game to try and get the result but after trailing twice we scored tice and tbh the game was very even and neither side deserved to lose, a fair result but feels like our 70th draw in a row at minute. gg pegger
