Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Twice in a week we've beaten PSV after getting by in the cup, we decided to not tamper with the game plan too much (just made sure we didn't have any conflictions in the sheet) and we came out the trap flying. We found ourselves 3 up in no time, by no time 4 minutes. We conceded earlyish but the game was over from our point and it just turned into an end to end contest. I'm happy with everything in this match really, given we played without our best striker (who hasn't scored himself since round 1), to score 3 goals is a pleasant surprise.
We have a fantastic home record as stated last match, next we travel to Valencia where I hope we can break our duck away from home.
Gaya’s first minute heroics might have saved the day for Valencia. He was able to neutralize O_Idrissi’s scoring chance with a last minute sliding tackle in font of net. The referee for today's match was defiantly not friendly towards the home side in any way. Most obviously in the late stages when he waved play-on after P_Goncalves was viciously brought down in the box by a J_Vazquez tackle; bringing the fans and players alike into an uproar. The match overall was a relatively calm affair with only one booking, a match that at times seemed to be played on neutral grounds with the lack of fan enthusiasm.
Manager Buck did hound the referee in his post match press conference for his 85th minute handling of the play that took P_Goncalves down in the penalty area, stating that “where is VAR when you need it? “.
DeKuip will be welcoming a new face in the next week or so, 24 year old J_Koroma a seasoned midfielder who earned his stripes playing for Schalke. The addition will no doubt add some much needed depth to the midfield.
The lads put in a good performance, but had to were made to sweat by a hard working Rennes side who nearly took a point.
The game burst into life late in the first half with four goals in two minutes, and it wasn't sealed until late sub Chiquinho netted an 86th minute winner.
Nunez and Dembele continued their fine form with a goal apiece, to end a good week for Fiorentina with 3 wins out of 3.
It looks like being a quiet week on the transfer front, as the boss expressed his satisfaction at how well his team were starting to gel together.
