Decided not to mess about too much, and expected Villa to play a more open style than cautious at home. So we opted for the approach we did and it didn't work that well initially, although we scored with our first action, Villa had more of the early goings. But we managed to go 2 up, as we tried to play more open we got picked off and we cashed out with what we had. We'll take it, we just want to keep the points coming, one surprising stat, we made 11 tackles in a game where we lowered our aggression? But we're happy with the win, some more minutes in the team but as a game not really the most entertaining.
To say that we was countered for a large part of this game we stood up pretty well but standing up pretty well and losing the match gains you no points so we are still very much on a downer. Including this game we also have all the big boys of the division coming up in the next 6 or 7 games so not feeling all that confident at this moment in time.
Scraped the points against a useful Liverpool side, so job done.Chelsea are not firing on all cylinders so a win of any kind is welcome.Into the top six we go, heady heights.
All in all a pretty even game against the current Champions and a point in a fixture like this is always a good result. Probably should have been a bit more daring being at home but we saw last season how Leeds can play when they want and even this season they have been on fire so we kept it tight and pleased with the point that sees us now eight games unbeaten although there are four draws in that but even so, looking at the sides we have played, its a great return so far.
