BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Setting A against E, at home, couldn’t have been better. But after 30 minutes with the score nil nil and a frustrating performance in goal from Mamardvili, I was starting to fear the worst.
But, once the gate was open, the goals came thick and fast. Griezmann continuing his fine form with a brace and Lindelof showing why we were so keen to sign him in pre season.
This run of form cannot last and we are still yet to face any of the big teams in the league. But, this doesn’t mean we cannot enjoy it whilst it is here.
With Lisbon drawing, we are the last man standing on maximum points, 24 out of 24 is what dreams are made of and goes a massive way, even at this early stage of the season of helping us to our target of champions league football.
Atletico up next, our first test against a proper team in this league, let’s see what we are made of.
With our best DEF as one of the clubs top scorers so far and some totally abysmal performances, we deserve to be where we are.
We have some big changes to make early this season if survival is even on the cards and are aiming for a big auction purchase to keep my job, the fans are coming for my neck.
Played 6 of the top 8 teams in the first 8 games of the season, how unlucky can one manager get? Only up from here I guess!
Well played Jason, fully deserved the win. Good luck with the rest of the season.
Roles reversed from the champions league game when Atletico edged a close game. Not a lot between the sides on the day with a 14-16 shot count but Roma got the all important three points to continue their title challenge.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "Another blow for the side and the top-6 is already looking a difficult ask. We know there is a long way to go and will keep going".
A total battering by Garysean's men today, coming into our own yard and showing us how it's done.
We're on a poor run atm and now all 4 teams who we predicted to be fighting for 7th & 8th have beaten us soundly. The way it's going it looks like we'll be winning the DPT next season again.
Onto the game and Inter countered us all game, scoring after 19 minutes followed by a second just before the break and then they went on to wrap up the victory with just over 20 minutes to play.
Statistically it was the most even game I think I've ever had...Same shots both on and off, 51/49% possession and yet Inter were clinical and we couldn't hit a barn door.
Think Andy can feel hard done by but we have been done same was this season when at home and being countered or even being away and countering we have been beaten, the game was even we were just more clinical as he said, we were going to go A but felt after game against Barca where we countered but got soundly beaten deserved another chance and used an almost identical sheet, much needed three points though, teams like ourselves, juve and Atletico a little more behind where expected to be but i expect come round 38 all three will be in top 8. We have went through a period against the top sides and mostly away and although there is no easy game on paper our fixtures look more forgiving where i feel we will start picking up points. gg mate
An exciting game with the draw probably a better result for us than the home side. We showed a lot of determination to stay in the game and Benzema continued his fine form with a brace. Leverkusen edged the possession but we created a few more opportunities. The point continues our good start to the season and maintains that eighth place position.
Played Chris, good game.
Excellent performance on the road in the El Clásico, until, well, it wasn't really.
We set up to counter Barca, and into the second half we was 0-4 and 1-5 up with I think about 20 minutes to go. Donnarumma then continued to show that he's slavered his gloves with butter this season as he let in 3 more goals one after the other, a couple of them were pea rollers that even I could have saved. To conceed 4 goals from 6 shots on target is down out right despicable and on near negliance levels. He's been terrible all season. Thinks he's made it since his big money move from Marseille but I just gave him a real rocket up the arse in the locker rooms. I'm not happy. Not happy at all with his levels of performance and he needs to shape up, or ship out.
Thankfully, the rest of the team carried Donna well enough that we deserved the win in the first El Clásico of the season, but once again and an eventful game between the two teams. GG Livi.
Yes a bore draw but given the fortunes of the 2 teams so far this season - Sporting boasting a 100% record prior to the match and Monaco with 4 points from a possible 21 then this is definitely a point gained rather than 2 points lost.
I didn't pay too much attention to what SPorting have done so far this season as with 2 key players in Coutinho and Hummels both out to injury I knew that they would have to do things differently.
We made a couple of changes pushing Arthur and Jovetic further forward and we did manage more shots (and on target) that our opponents but we were unable to really trouble Lopes in the sporting goal.
Still a point away from a team who will be in the mix at the end of the season is a very good result and restores my faith for another few days at least!
Good game Cheyenne, good luck for the rest of the season.
"A massive old firm win for us, Rangers have been on top of the Scottish pile for a while now, so to get the win and a few goals which we have struggled for so far is very important, we missed one of our attacking players, but it didn't matter. Since the changes we have started to turn it round and find ourselves creeping up to mid table, couple of new faces in for our trip to Bayern next who have also had a very up and down start to the season."
The closeness of the final score doesn’t reflect the dominance that Madrid had, we rattled in 3 late goals to make it look more respectable but we were well beaten.
In fairness I’m abroad at the moment and my last 3 sheets have just been resubmitted as I don’t have time or access to do one properly. I would probably have played C as we did against PSG recently but that’s on me.
