BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We were fortunate enough to play Celtic when they had to play their sub keeper, and made the most of it.
We slightly edged the game anyway, giving up tactical advantage, which is pleasing.
Nice to see Jovic score a couple more, and got some squaddies some minutes once ahead.
I'm sure Celtic will be there or thereabouts come the end anyway, but nice to be top for a while.
The scoreline might actually be too kind, the tub boys were out played for a good part of the match, the consolation goal in the 93rd was too little too late. Kudos to Marseille on a well played match.
With cup loss after cup loss, the question that arises is, does manager Buck have what it takes? We caught with the gaffer to ask about Feyenoords cup dilemma. His response was “Unfortunately we don’t have enough depth in the current squad to accommodate for cup and league matches, that’s not to say that we haven’t looked around. We are actively on the look out for new talent”. Manager Buck then responded to the question, do Feyenoord have any prospects? “I believe our end goal is reasonable and attainable, if not by this season – then next”.
So from the looks of it, more cup woes are expected for the not too distant future.
I feel like this was a potential banana skin but we came through unscathed after a good performance. Unsure if Betis sheeted or had a random but we were able to overpower their 442 N with some good attacking football. Karim Benzema might be ageing but a Motm award and goal showed he still has the class.
Played Euan.
