Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
First defeat of the season and against the best side in the league can’t fault the team tbh. It was an even game that we had TA for long periods but sadly for us Boro were just more clinical. We move on and take valuable lessons from the match.
Played Boro.
Reporter: A 3-1 defeat. Despite your team having the tactical advantage, the performance was lacking. What's your take on this?
HD: Frankly, it was an unacceptable performance. We may have had the right tactics on paper, but football isn't played on paper. Our execution was poor, and individual errors cost us dearly. When you have a strategy in place and your team fails to follow through, it's incredibly frustrating.
Reporter: Danny Ings was particularly influential for Fulham, scoring twice. What do you make of your defense's inability to contain him?
HD: It's clear that our defense was not up to the mark today. Ings is a quality striker, no doubt, but the way we let him dictate the game and get 11 shots off was disappointing. Our defenders need to step up their game and show more resilience against top forwards. It's a wake-up call for us.
Reporter: There seemed to be a lack of creativity in your attack despite having possession advantage. How do you address this issue?
HD: Possession without purpose is meaningless. Our attack lacked the cutting edge and creativity needed to break down a solid Fulham defense. We'll need to go back to the drawing board and rethink our attacking strategies. It's evident that we need more dynamism and unpredictability upfront.
Reporter: Are you concerned about the morale of your team after such a loss?
HD: Any defeat is a blow to the team's morale, especially one like this. However, I expect my players to show character and bounce back. We can't dwell on this loss for too long. We need to learn from our mistakes and move forward with a positive mindset.
Reporter: Let's talk about the penalty decisions. Fulham was awarded a penalty for an uncertain foul, and Forest's appeals for a penalty were ignored. Your thoughts?
HD: Ohhhh don't get me started... it's blatant that there's a massive inconsistency in officiating. The penalty awarded to Fulham was a farce. Our goalkeeper, Matt Turner, was penalised for what was, at best, a marginal contact. It's decisions like these that make you question the integrity of the officiating.
Reporter: Do you think the referee's decision impacted the outcome of the match?
HD: Absolutely. When you're unjustly penalised with a goal against you, it shifts the entire momentum of the game. It's not just about the scoreline; it's about the mental blow to the players. On the flip side, our legitimate claims for a penalty with all the shirt pulling were ignored. It's baffling how these decisions are so lopsided... take nothing away from Fulham though, they deserved the win because we couldn't score.
Reporter: Are you worried about potential repercussions from the FA for your comments?
HD: I might be risking a fine here, but someone needs to speak up. If standing up for fair play and pointing out glaring mistakes in refereeing costs me a fine, so be it. We're talking about the integrity of the game here. These aren't just minor errors; they're game-changing decisions that need to be addressed.
Reporter: Do you think there needs to be a change in how referees are held accountable?
HD: Definitely. There has to be greater transparency and accountability in refereeing. Mistakes can happen, but when they consistently influence the outcome of matches, questions need to be asked. We need a system where such decisions are reviewed and scrutinised, ensuring that referees maintain the highest standards of fairness and accuracy in their officiating.
Reporter: Looking ahead, you're about to face Watford at home. They've had an unusual pattern of success, winning all their away games while losing at home. How do you approach a team with such a contrasting record?
HD: Watford's record is intriguing. Their away form suggests they are comfortable on the counter and exploiting spaces. We respect their ability to perform under different conditions and in different environments. However, our focus remains on our game plan, strengths, and adaptability.
Reporter: Does their away form affect your tactical approach?
HD: Our tactical approach will consider their strengths and weaknesses, but we won't deviate from our core philosophy. We're aware they might be more dangerous on the break, so our defensive discipline needs to be top-notch. We will also look to exploit their potential vulnerabilities, especially given their home record which might reflect certain systemic issues.
Despite a torrid run of League results and without a home League win this season Millwall were on fire for this London derby.
The Millwall fans were fired up for this game and boy did the players give them something to shout about. Every time the Lions attacked it seem to end up with a shot from a Millwall player.
The opening 15 minutes was end to end but the Den erupted in the 16th minute when Romain Esse saw his shot hit the post and nestle in the net. The Brentford fans then erupted as the goal was ruled out for offside.
30 seconds later an incense Romain Esse delivered a great ball from a free kick to Aidomo Emakhu who hit a hard drive past Flekken to make the score 1-0 and with no dodgy FFO referee bollocks the Den erupted again and the Brentford founds looked crestfallen.
Despite both sides hitting the woodwork a couple of times an exciting first half ended 1-0 to the home side.
The 2nd half continued as the first with Millwall having lots of shots and Brentford also creating quite a few chances. The game was on a knife edge and given Millwall's troubles in keeping a lead this season the nerves started to ramp up as the game entered in the final quarter.
In the 72nd minute the roof blew off the Den when substitute Billy Mitchell found Marvelous Nakamba who made no mistake to score his first goal for the club and give Millwall an important two goal lead.
The nerves were gone and Millwall dominated the final minutes of the game to secure their first home league win of the season and their first win since the opening game following three defeats and a draw in that torrid spell.
Millwall had 52% possession and created 34 chances to Brentford's 18, Millwall had an incredible 18 shots on target to Brentford's 6

What a showing that was today under immense pressure with us being in the bottom three. It was great to see our play actually getting the rewards they deserved and i am especially impressed that we did not feel sorry for ourselves when Romain Esse's goal was ruled out for offside. Instead we puffed our chest out and said fuck you FFO and scored straight away.
You could see the relief around the ground when Marvelous smashed in the 2nd goal and to get our first clean sheet in the League will do young James the world of good.
All in all it was a great day and hopefully we can kick on now and start picking up more points and start moving up the table
Good game Marcus been a long time since we played each other
Naismith redeemed himself after last weeks own goal with a late winner here, Bournemouth set up long ball and meant the chances were few and far between, but we ground it out and dominated possession massively to grab the first home league win of the season
