Another frustrating result, but an eventful game to say the least in terms of what went on the pitch. It had everything, red cards, injuries, missed penalty, anything that could happen did. But again, leading again in the latter parts of the game, we tried to shut up shop but Atalanta found a way into our box and score a levelling penalty.
They've had a great season so far, starting well, so to take a point is quite a positive but we need to convert these situations into wins, our home form has been OK, no losses, but the 3 games we have lost all away from home, shows we don't travel well and need to make use of our home ties.
Good game to be appart of today despite only 1 point to show for it.
Glad we were able to win at home, especially after our performance against Real Betis. Gotta hand it to P_Goncalves for acting quickly and scoring on the opportunity handed to him in the 27th and for O_Idrissi’s shot the bounced of the keeper into the net a few minutes later. Two goals that came from nothing; we’ll tale them anytime. When matches are as close as this afternoons, it doesn’t matter how you score, just that you score. A_Muric played exceptionally well in nets making two extraordinary saves – one in the 51st getting his body in front of a blast from M_Taremi and a few minutes later slapping away D_Carmo’s header. If all our matches have this sort of dedication from the lads, I’ll be a very happy manager. Last words, overall a great team effort.
Our disastrous league campaign continues with a horrblible evening in Seville.
I have to take responsibility for changing our normal tactics hoping for some kind of advantage. It was a risk which didn't pay off and left us horribly exposed against one of the better squads in the division.
A sending off and suspension for one of our top defenders on top of that.
I always look for the positives but there were none here.
I had a feeling this would be the result. Benfica have a strong defence, with our old player Digne leading the line.
Both sides played a cautious C, and not many shots on target was the result. We did try switching the tactics up in the second half, but if anything, it gave the opposition more chances.
It was Son's opportunity to shine, but he was kept fairly quiet.
Based on the stats it was about right, gg dude
