Salzburg 2-0 Rennes

A disappointing start to the season continues with a poor result in Austria.
The stats suggest this was an even game but the truth is they scored two goals within half an hour and we never really looked like getting back into the game after that.

SHAKHTAR DONETSK 2-2 Union Berlin

I thought we nicked it but it just wasn't to be. We matched Union without our best player, the team adapted well enough today and I'm happy enough with the point on the balance of play. Union matched us pretty much so it was a fair outcome, these are the games though we aim at winning. But we move on a point is better than nothing and we go again Friday.

A match too close to call, Feyenoord played a good game. S_Benrahma did right with the opportunity he got in the 81st. Always tough to lose at home; I'm sure it won't be the last time.

Valencia 1-4 Fiorentina

Well, I didn't see this one coming I was expecting the worst tbh, we still had 3 men out, and Tony has developed Valencia into a good side, who had won both games so far. What the telling factor was however, was the sending off in the early minutes which gave us a man advantage as well as the tactical advantage.
We went on to put in our best performance of the season so far, with goals from Kamara, Dembele and Martial.

FC Porto 1 -2 Atalanta

We made it three out of three and four out of four in all competitions as we returned home from Portugal with all three points.

Despite the hosts difficult start to the season, they made a real game of this and we had to work hard. We took a two goal lead going into the interval and looked fairly comfortable.

FC Porto came out guns blazing and pulled a goal back, eight minutes after the restart and it was a battle from there on in but we dug in and held on to all three points.

We now turn our attentions to Wednesday and a trip to the south coast of France to face Nice in the second round of the EFL Cup.
