    Match Day 2

Millwall Capitulate To Ten Man Luton Town Despite Smashing The Fanny Out Of Them

    Millwall 2 Luton Town 3

    Scorers

    Danny McNamara (8th Minute)
    Dane Scarlett (23rd Minute)
Mpanzu - Sent Off (36th Minute)
    Bradley (62nd Minute)
    Veiga (64th Minute)
    Morris(75th Minute Penalty)

In the first League home game of the season the most bizarre of games took place as Millwall fans left the ground unsure how they witness the travesty of a 2nd half collapse against 10 men that their hero's had just dominated all over the pitch.

Things started very brightly with Windebank and his scouting team getting the number of Luton Town gaining tactical advantage with Long Ball against Counter Attacking.

Millwall dominated the opening minutes of the game and Yusuf Kabadayi found Danny McNamara who gave the Lions the lead in the 8th minute.

Both teams matched tactics and after a little sparring Dane Scarlett showed great skill as he performed a England vs Scotland Gascoigne goal to give the Lions a 2-0 lead with just 23 minutes on the clock.

Neil Stockley acted swiftly bringing on their star player who was surprisingly on the bench in the form of Attacking midfielder Clark and barked at his players to attack.

With Millwall edging the actions the Luton players started losing their heads and Mpanzu was given a straight red when he headbutted Aidomo Emakhu in the 36th minute and Luton Town were down to 10 men.

Two minutes later the Den erupted when Jeremiah Israƫl St. Juste scored a fantastic goal only to the shock of everyone in the ground and the commentators the goal was ruled out for a controversial offside decision.

The Millwall players looked furious with the poor decision and saw out the half battering the Luton Town goal but were not able to add to their two goal lead.

Millwall came out for the 2nd half with more of the same but were hit with a sucker punch in Luton's first action of the 2nd half when Alvavez made an incisive pass to Bradley who struck the ball home to half the deficit.

Two Minutes later the Den fell silent when Clark found Veiga with a towering header, Veiga's effort hit the bar but he was there to slot home the rebound and shockingly the game was all level.

Windebank bought on 3 substitutes and again Millwall went for the throat but to no avail and in the 75th minute Rodrigo went pass 3 Millwall players and a rash challenge by James Trafford saw the referee award a penalty that Morris despatched with ease to give Luton a 3-2 lead.

For the remaining 15 minutes Millwall continued to pepper the Luton Town goal but could not score and Luton Town left the Den lucky to not get arrested for mugging charges.

Millwall had 57% possession and created 31 chances to Luton's 18 and had 19 yes NineFuckingTeen Shots on target compared to Luton's 10.

Despite the defeat the Millwall players left the pitch to a standing ovation but the officials waited in the centre circle for an escort off the pitch.

    Windebanks Post Match Comments

I have to say I am a bit shell shocked at what just happened out there on the pitch today. How the flying fuck we have lost that game is beyond me. I cannot fault my players there as we created enough chances and had enough shots on target to win three games but lets not take anything away from Neil Stockley's Luton as they showed tremendous character to withstand the battering we subjected them too and win with 10 men.

My job now is to make sure I pick the players up for Monday's game because they are very disappointed with what transpired in the 2nd half out there today.

Great Game Neil and best of luck for the season mate

      Stockport County 0-2 Nottingham Forest

      Reporter
: An impressive 2-0 win with both goals from defenders. Could you break down the tactical approach and performance in today's match?

HD: Certainly, today was a testament to our team's adaptability and tactical discipline. We were robust at the back and quick to transition into attack. Neco Williams and Andrew Omobamidele scoring shows our emphasis on set-pieces and defenders pushing forward during key moments. While our strikers weren't on the scoresheet today, their movement and pressing were crucial in creating spaces and opportunities for others. It was a real team effort.

Reporter: The game saw equal attempts on goal from both sides. Such a closely contested match.

HD: In tight matches like these, it often comes down to taking your chances and staying disciplined defensively. Our defenders took their opportunities brilliantly today. Defensively, we kept our shape and restricted Stockport to less dangerous areas, allowing Matt Turner to make saves. That we've still yet to concede in the league is a real achievement, I think. We were patient, waited for our moments, and it paid off with two well-worked goals.

Reporter: With the strikers struggling to find the net again, how crucial were set-pieces in securing the win?

HD: They were absolutely vital. We always emphasize the importance of every player contributing to the team's goal tally, and set-pieces are an excellent opportunity for that. Today, our defenders made the difference, showing great desire and technique to score. We'll continue to work on our finishing and set-piece routines to maintain this threat.

Reporter: Can you comment on the defensive performance, especially with the clean sheet and the defenders' offensive contributions?

HD: I couldn't be prouder of the defensive line. They were solid throughout the game, making intelligent decisions and crucial tackles. The clean sheet is a just reward for their hard work. Defensively, we were compact, and our full-backs provided excellent width, allowing us to be more dynamic in our attacks.

Reporter: Looking ahead, how will this performance influence your preparations for upcoming fixtures?

HD: It gives us a lot of positives to build on. The defensive solidity and ability to score from different areas on the pitch provide us with confidence. However, our forwards to be more clinical. We had a few key chances that on another day could have been quite costly. Our preparations will continue to focus on creating clear-cut chances and finishing, as well as maintaining our defensive strength.

Good game Mike, good luck for rest of the season.

          Ipswich Town 2-2 WBA
"A well earnt point on the road for Tractor Boys"

So match day 2 saw us travel across from the East to the Midlands as we headed to the West Midlands to face Frank Deeming's West Brom.

We found ourselves behind to 2 first half goals as Poegba and Jordan put us on the back foot despite being the better of the 2 teams for large parts of the half. We just couldn't find that break through despite testing Iversen in the Albion goal on a number of occasions.

Another dampener on our 1st half was the loss of Morsy who succumbed to injury and now misses the next 2.

Into the second half and we continued to push on to try and get us back into the game. The 1st came 5 minutes into the 2nd half as Donacien received Frattesi's ball to slot home past Iversen. The 2nd goal didn't look like it was going to happen as we got deeper and deeper into the game with Iversen in fine form, that was until the 86th minute as the equaliser finally came thanks to great work from Cooper.

There was still time for a winner for either side but neither could get it despite going close, leaving the game to finish 2-2.

I'll take that result personally. We look in a good position to compete and have started the season relatively well picking up 4 points from 6. There are a few issues in the squad and we don't have the budget nor players to correct them just yet, but thats the joys of a lower league club and we shall just try to get creative.

          Good game Frank.

            Brentford 0-0 Brum

Not a bad result on the road against a stronger side. Two points from two games isn't a bad start but would be nice to get a win on the board. Few new signings for our next game which will hopefully give us a goalscoring edge.
            Played Marcus.

              Bristol City 0 Watford 2

A disappointing defeat for the Robins - naively we went all out attack from the start forgetting that their 2 defenders were back from being out for the cup game so thought we would have an easier game. They scored early after 6 minutes and we never looked like getting right back into it. We conceded again and then Bentley saved a pen which was odd as we dominated the stats generally but were a bit blunt up front.
