91st minute defeat on a very weird match. 2-0 below with TA. Fucked up one sub by not setting it, just a wonderful way to start the year and the season

      Villarreal 3
      S_Comesana (9,91), A_Oroz (12)

      Booked: A_Moreno (20), E_Capoue (77)

      Ajax 2
      G_Mikauatadze (40), I_Paixao (55)

      Booked: E_Garcia (35), G_Trauner (67)

      MotM: S_Comesana (Villarreal)
      HT: 2-1

Tactically we were outplayed for large parts of this game and probably the only thing in our favour was the advantage the superb home crowd support brings. Ajax can feel rightly frustrated as they were the better side, but the yellow submarine had other ideas and plundered all three points with a goal from the last kick of the game. Santi Comesana's brace of goals was the difference between the two sides and he rightly picked up the MotM award on the final whistle.

Unlucky Mati, I'm sure you'll be there or thereabouts at the top as the season progresses.

Next game sees the yellow submarine travel to fellow Spanish side Real Sociedad in the EFL Cup which will prove to be a stern test for the EFL2 newcomers.

        SHAKATAR DONESK 4-1 Lyon

What a result, being truthful I didn't expect it. But we played a random, and took full advantage of it. We certainly deserved it on the balance of play and it's a great way to being the campaign. An opening day hatrick is fantastic for Traore and he's rated up already, hopefully that'll help him score a few extra goals this term.

We won't get carried away though, we know we're playing catch up in the market and we clearly have the worst squad in the league, so we don't expect too much success this season so we'll enjoy them little wins when they come.

          Feyenoord 3 - 0 Fiorentina

Reaction...Pleasantly surprised. Was expecting a closer scoreline, but no complaints on Feyenoord’s home win.

            Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 Benfica

A Result to be happy with in what turns out to be my first and last match in charge in Frankfurt. A late penalty flatters us slightly but on balance a deserved win which shows the potential of the club.
Pleased to start, and end, this short German adventure on a good note.

              Feyenoord 3-0 Fiorentina

Not the best start to the season. It was going ok till around half-time when we switched tactics, and it went downhill from there.
Feyenoord deserved the win, though it was much tighter than the score line suggests, our keeper had a mare.
Worse though, as our new striker Jackson got injured for 3 weeks early in the game.
I guess the clues were there in the pre-season tournament, where we underperformed. Ah well, more changes it is then
              Gg dude.

                Atalanta 2 - 0 Real Betis

We got off to the perfect start to my reign in Bergamo as we saw this game through fairly comfortably in the end.

We got off to a bad start with experienced defender José Luis Palomino hobbling off after only nine minutes, however we did not let that affect us as we scored just after the half hour mark from Gianluca Scamacca and then doubled our lead just after the second half restart when Giorgio Scalvini put us into a strong position.

Betis tried to get back into the game, but we held firm and shut them out to keep a clean sheet and claim all three points.

FC Porto 0 - 1 FC Union Berlin

Surprisingly lively game where it looked like nobody was prepared to score. Fortunately for us young forward David Fofana ran onto a long ball from Diogo Leite and did his best David Beckham impression snatching us a shocking 3 points with 10 minutes to play. Playing against a superior team we managed to keep over 60% of the ball which went a long way in keeping the chances even and giving us the opportunity to pull off a vital away win.

Despite alleged media reports, there is no way that I was sliding on my knees in celebration of Fofana's goal.
