Decided to attack PSG away as a bit of a barometer to see were we are at, and to also maximise our abs gains as the season peters out. 25-17 shot count wasn't too bad to be honest, but unfortunately we only got 3 of our 17 shots on target. Only 17% when it's normally about 53%. Luck like that away to PSG isn't going to turn out well and we was well beaten. PSG probably win anyway if we had our normal on target luck, but it might have been closer and certainly would have been more abs which was disapointing. GG Ed well done again on the title and the record. Last game of the season next at home to a tricky Rangers side. Guimares is out and Rudiger returns from his injury. So 1 in and 1 out on that front.
Schalke 1-4 Bayern
Jesus that was a shock facing a Schalke A and going 1-0 down. Haaland making the most of playing for me before he moves over to Daddy Ed (Felix) and Isak becomes our player despite going on transfer list
GG Chris - good luck in your pursuit of a new club later this week
PSG 5 - 2 Real Madrid
Very flattering scoreline helped by the fact our visitors had only 3 shots on target. weetabix fingers still managed to concede from 2 of them - he really is a liability, and the worst efl1 keeper this season in terms of abs per game. Probably fitting that we beat RM to break their record points tally. We find 4 players on passing abs of 969, 995, 990, and 989 and im seriously tempted to rest them for the last game to save on wages, and let them level up next season. It's not like we have a tough last game of the season.
GG and unlucky Steve - the on/off calculator screwed you on this one.
A 7 goal thriller in Milan as our penultimate game of the season further cements our position as best Italian team in the game.
With little to play for now (fininsying 3rd, 4th or 5th doesn't really matter to us), we've felt recently like we can play open, attractive football in an aim to earn as many abs as possible so we came into this one with P, knowing that scared AC Milan would use their usual C tactic...and they did.
The hosts took the lead on 14 minutes, but after a spell of pressure, C_DeKetelaere evened the score just 6 minutes later.
AC retook the lead just before the half hour mark and we had it all to do again, but despite being under the cosh by the home team, F_Wirtz brought us level with 4 minutes to go in the first half and that's how the half ended.
The second half started brightly for AC, but then a stroke of good fortune for us.
After a good spell in the first 5 minutes for the hosts, the Milan goalkeeper ter_Stegen was taken off injured and within the same minute, we took our first lead of the game as C_DeKetelaere notched his 30th goal of the season to give us a 3-2 lead.
AC went on the hunt by switching to A while we stuck with P and it looked like their bold move to attack us had paid off just minutes later, but the 52nd minute equaliser was ruled out much to the home fans' disappointment.
The 3rd for Milan did come eventually as they made it 3-3 on 66 minutes and we were level again.
The next goal had to be the winner and thankfully for us it came in the form of F_Wirtz's 25th goal of the season and 2nd of the game with just 12 minutes to play as we took a 4-3 lead late in the game.
We controlled the remaining time in the game and came away with a valuable 3 points.
Statistically it was a fairly even game, with us just about shading it. Good game Mati.
Going into the last game we sit 3rd, with 4th the only other option. Either will do. Good luck Marshy.
Well it had to happen penultimate game but what can be said but it was on the cards. Thorough spanking not much more can be said with this poor performance and with Martial and Vlasic out for the last game of the season just laughable. A win is needed but whatever fate is in there hands.
A very dominant performance from the away side with a 3-13 shot count. The home team failed to be inspired by the home manager who spent the entire game sat in the dugout scrolling through Amazon looking for what to spend his £19 on. Atletico did everything but find the onion bag and its been strange season the number of time the away side have scored nil and then blasted 4 or 5 another week.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "The point guarantees us 4th place and thats likely to be where we finish unless Schalke shut up shop for the point they need to stay up and we beat Inter. A tough task on both fronts. We suspect Inter will attack and it is likely we will join them for an open and entertaining game".
K_Mbabu 28 aut 1 20 18 5 27 1 880 11 282 improved his passing to 18. A number of clubs have shown interest in the player in the last couple of weeks.
We knew exactly what to expect from Sevilla as they churn the same thing out every game - and yet they still managed to score 3 against our home and tactical bonus. Even worse the stats suggest they were well worth their draw too! Farce really.
Meaningless game but annoying all the same, but again it just goes to show there's little point in trying to set up to get the bonus, waste of time.
Looking forward to getting the final game out of the way and having a break tbh.
I was completely caught out by Marshys decision to play C, expecting a more open AvA event, or a potential E.
This caused a bombardment on the Leverkusen net, but some good goalkeeping and terrible finishing meant we walked away with a point.
Finishing between 9th and 11th is a good achievement given the shear gulf in quality at the top of the table.
Leverkusen is not a perfect team, with some age issues but hopefully a nice step up for a manager wanting to be in the DPT! Plus they won’t be losing any players to minutes this season, that can be called fantastic management.
Both sides came into the game playing attacking football but the game itself did not produce a lot of goals, We got a quick goal from the departing Mount and laboured for most the game with neither of the two sides looking like scoring again even though tossing the kitchen sink at each other. Son got the second on the 68th as both he and Mount sign off at home with goals as they depart for Celtic, all in all a good win but a game of few chances, considering the formations, Atletico has hinted at open attacking football, we will take them at their word and continue to attack in our last game of the season and hope Simon Marsh is a man of his word. gg John
