thats 3 wins on the bounce as we finish with a flourish, I was disappointed to not be more than 1-0 up as we changed tactics into a tense finale, with Monaco disallowed a goal with the last kick of the game.

Lazio 2 -7 PSG
It was an odd opening 20 minutes. Starting with TA, we raced into a 2 goal lead inside 10 minutes, only to be pegged back to 2-2 in the following 10 minutes. A tactic change by the hosts added TA to HA, and it was loooking like a massively squandered opportunity. However a further 3 goals before half time put the tie out of reach. The 60 minute introduction of Tadic then added the additional customary 2 late goals.

I'm pleased to finally get over the mathematical line without having to rely on points against Real Madrid or Roma, although it would be satisfying to break the 100 point barrier and set a new points record for the period of my FFO career (no idea if it was breached in the "old times").
Commiserations to Derek, but thanks for making it an intriguing challenge. We probably werent 9 points better and no doubt had some good fortune along the way.

3rd draw in a row when leading is very much disappointing. Should have stuck to C when leading and changed up at 2-0 but we got cocky and paid the price. 2 games to go and CL is secure so that is a bonus. Id like us to put in 2 good performances before the EOS change up - a lot of player movement incoming

Congrats Ed. Your tactical knowledge makes things very difficult to predict. I didn’t expect you to attack all out straight away for fear of going behind, as Roma and Madrid can do more damage than me. But the changes after pegging you back ultimately walked reet into your palms for an easy game really.

Roma 5 2 Marseille

Straight forward win against a tactically poor Marseille.

Congrats to PSG on a well-earned title - they have been utterly dominant.

Frightening to see how far ahead of the rest of EFL they are. And with Roma about to go into decline it's hard to see much title excitement in EFL for a while.

With limited transfer activity for Roma eos looks like the same team will be expected try and will the elusive CL next season

Bayern Munich 1 - 1 Juventus

We came into the game with very little to play for. If we finish 3rd, 4th or 5th..it doesn't really matter to us and it seems like JB has lost his nerve in recent seasons. He used to moan about people playing C in the Champions League, yet he plays it all the time vs me and maybe others?

Anyway, we stuck with our strong P and gave TA away and after a back and forth first half hour, the hosts took the lead through D_Raum and switched to match us playing P.

The last 15 minutes of the half was 1 way traffic with us dominating the period, culminating in another C_DeKetelaere goal to send us in at half time level.

Bayern were back to playing C for the second half and despite the 2nd best team the rest of the game, we got away with a point in this game.

Statistically, Bayern were the better team and will be disappointed that they didn't win the game.

Real Madrid 1 - 3 Napoli

Typical result of our season really. A 25-12 shot count were we more than double the other teams shots yields a 1-3 defeat. Makes sense to some I guess. We fudged a few of the positions around the team to divert abs in certain places and it worked just the way I wanted despite the result which is secondary anyway at this point. Hopefully we are just getting all our bad RNG results out the way this season and it doesn't follow us into Season 3.

Next up is the new champions PSG at their patch. We will come to attack and hold no fear though. We might take a beating, but then again we might not. But there will be excitement.

Atletico Madrid 3 AC Milan 2

A bit of a Carlsberg night for Atletico. A Sancho double and Vinicius goal gave the home side another three points but there were defeats elsewhere for Real and Inter and draws for Bayern, Juve and Barca. The results guaranteed a top-5 spot and the highest finish under Marsh. Whilst other sides are suggesting they are not fussed about there finishing position we are more than happy to go as high as we can.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We deserved the victory and the end of the season is proving fruitful so far. Two more games to go. 4 points would guarantee us top4"

Dortmund 3 Barcelona 3

A cracking game for the neutrals here but a frustrating one for us as we twice let slip a 2 goal lead and the chance to post a rare (for us) sea of green on the form front. Credit to Dortmund they never gave up and that combined with us never trying to protect our lead led to a very open and closely fought contest and there's no question that the draw was the right result - played Niall.

We can still finish anything between 5th and 8th and in all honesty if we hadn't lost 4 or 5 games where we chose to rest key players for the more important cup games we'd be right in the shake up for 3rd. We did the right thing though as we have 2 trophies sitting in the cabinet and I don't think you get one for finishing 3rd/4th/5th in the league.

We finally get Anguissa back for our next match and I just hope he remembers how to play football given the volume of games he's missed this season.

Rangers 1 - 1 RB Leipzig

A very even match and overall the correct result for both teams looking to survive in the EFL. Rangers took the lead after 20 minutes with Hlozek but minutes later RB's defender, Tagliafico scored a rare goal to draw level and that's basically how it finished with no other highlights to talk about. Both teams remain 14th and 15th and needing to win there last 2 games to assure they remain in the EFL.

Real Sociedad 3 - 2 Inter Milan

a poor end to the season but job done, the boys are on holiday it seems and ive no complaints we have the Champions League yet again so job done, we now enjoy yhr last two games and look to score as many goals as we can, todays game we did enough to win but we trailed twice and it was just one of those days, we had enough of the stats but it wasnt to be, Bayern have found a voice now they are close its amazing but the only winner here is Inter Milan. GG mate

Sociedad 3-2 Inter

Feel quite bad about this win, sorry GS. Turns out playing 13 rates and 15 raters helps you beat one of the best sides in the league. Still making minutes but a great win for us. The goals came from Sorloth, Zarraga and MoTM Jota and give us an outside chance of catching Marseille and Schalke.
