Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
We just need to accept we don’t have the squad strength to compete at this level. Our promotion last season was quite lucky and the squads in EFL 1 are so strong. We had the better of the stats and matched Simon’s team but ended up getting hammered. I think the last few games of the season need to concentrate on getting minutes and not stress too much about staying up.
Played Simon, good luck for the run in.
3 defenders down, away from home, against one of the best teams in the game. Our goalkeeper goes and has an absolute stormer, but more importantly we matched Roma all over the pitch, with the most important stat, 3 goals to nil.
A dominant performance in the last match between Leverkusen and Roma with these long term rival managers. What. A. Game.
Unlucky Derek, my keeper just had one of those games.
With Sociedad needing a lot of playing minutes for fringe players it was hoped that they may have given some minutes to those players particularly when down to 10 EFL worthy players. Instead they picked their best players and gave 0 minutes away in a last attempt bid at getting a 3 points that might have kept them up. With Atletico losing Diaby to injury in the first phase of the game and a fervent home crowd Sociedad played really well and can count themselves unlucky not to get something out of the game. Atletico have been so variable with their shooting this season and today it was good with Mbabu and Frimpong grabbing goals
Manager Simon Marsh commenced "Not a great performance but the result was great and we have now qualified for the champions league again for the fourth successive season. Barce and Bayern have hit form so we need a couple of wins to make sure we finish no lower than last seasons 06th place. With Juve losing we have a shot at finishing third"
No players levelled up frustratingly.
Bad news for Diaby who missed 3 games injured. His injury meant also that Coleman was given no minutes as he was due on 3rd substitute
It looks like both Glik and Coleman will be given a half of football in the next couple of games.
Oddly relieved Ed won making this a meaningless match.
With only 3 defenders available thought our forwards would be in double figures. Bizarrely they decided to miss all 37 shots (presumably still traumatised at the prospect of losing their talisman manager)
3 losses in a row now - need to start winning soon. Otherwise we'll finish below Juve (which would be even more embarrassing than losing to JHop)
Sevilla 3-3 Bayern
Having led by 2 goals twice in this game, to throw it away is massively disappointing. We need a couple of wins from final 4 games to ensure a top 8 finish and get back into the CL
GG Alfredo - good luck with the rebuild next season!!
Performances are more important than results right now and we got a decent output with 27 shots, 18 passes and 9 tackles. Inter matched us on the stats and we was a bit lucky to get the win perhaps with Inter's goalkeeper going off injured. They will be thankful that he will miss no further action though. GG Garysean nice to clash swords as always.
We have more luck attacking teams and thats why we took it to Madrd with a player out, we have qualified for the Champions League once again unless Lazio win 4 games and we lose 4 games so its all about getting as many abs as we can in these final 4 games and hopefully put pressure on those ahead in Madrid and Atletico to get above them. game wise it was very open we took the lead and we deserved, the game was swigning in our favour until Thibaut Courtois went off injured an afte that Madrid started to go on top and a draw would have been fair but with the last kick of the ball it seems on the 92nd minute Madrid scored, we face out of form Roma next with two players out but with leverkusen crushing them with three players out we are confident as Roma consider sacking the once untouchable Derek Hughes after his outburst last week seemingly losing the dressing room. gg mate
PSG 2 - 1 Sporting Lisobn
Again we conceded first and went into the break trailing. The visiting keeper was saving everything we threw at him and it was looking like a frustrating day. however, like so many other times this season, the introduction of super sub Tadic changed things. We managed an equaliser six minutes after he came on. Lisbon then decided to open up and switched to A and we continued to pepper the Lisbon goal. It looked like a repeat of the earlier game between the 2 teams where we left with a draw despite dominating. Fortunately the continued pressure resulted in a penalty, which Felix converted, managing to do what the other 17 other shots to the front 2 had failed.
GG Gaz
A very unexpected defeat for Roma puts one hand on the title, but i have managed to fail so many times in the past that i am not taking anything for granted. Ideally i would like to beat the record points total set last season by Real Madrid of 99 points, but i will settle for 1 more point.
I'm sure Rangers beat us earlier in the season so it's good to get a bit of revenge for that and to keep our mini winning streak going.
Tried a different tactic and formation and the stats suggest we were worth the narrow victory.
Very quiet game for both Jesus and Saint Maximin, the latter learning today that he's being punted permanently to sunny Glasgow at the end of the season. Poor lad.
Another terrible performance from us today meaning we've lost 3 of our last 4 games. We came into the game knowing that our hosts were missing 3 key players so opted to go all out attack....It didn't work.
Dortmund played A too and within 4 minutes, their 19 rated FW had given them the lead with the games only goal and we were awful for the rest of the game.
Well beaten, only creating 3 shots the entire game. We have Sevilla next who also are missing 3 key players so no doubt another loss incoming.
Possibly Leipzig's best win of the season against one of the top sides of the EFL and very surprising at the very least. Napoli did have a player sent off early in the second half but RB were two goals up before there red card both scored by Martial and quickly added to the scoreline in the second half with fellow striker Milik scoring the other 2 goals.
