"The champagne is very much still on ice, neither us or PSV want to go up it seems and if im honest, now Porto have won the title im even less bothered, Fulham very much owed us one, we overturned a deficit at their place in the QF of the DB Cup and today they got a bit of that revenge back, the fulham side put out was a very average one and realistically we should of played much better, unfortunately a lot of the lads are already heading off elsewhere at eos and you could tell by some of their performances today.. Julian Alvarez continues to try and drag us over the line for promotion, but as I say, when its not the actual title your winning, it makes you care a lot less.... on that note i want to congratulate Porto, Tims had a fantastic season, we have had the positive end of the results against them this season but what a run for them, its just a shame caretakers dont get promoted as they fully deserve it."
2-0 down to 2-3 up with all three goals from two of our new players. Two goals from DBC cup goal hero Richarlison and one from Veerman seal a good away win. A 32 shot haul game as well our best of the season I think. Just a shame the season is finishing in 1 games time just when we get the majority of our team together as we could have been a playa.
Ptobably had some good fortune on our side today, stats wise I think we were somewhat fortunate to get the win, but going A and having 4 up top we certainly came to win and we did just that.
That’s the title in the bag, quite an achievement in my opinion. Porto’s squad at the start of the season and even now after improvements should not have been winning this league really. Porto have the 10th highest wages in the league so in a simplistic assessment should have finished 10th. I’m pretty happy with that and take plenty of pride from it.
It’s pretty empty though as they are being remodelled and getting their minutes seems to have been pointless, don’t even know if they’ll benefit from top prize money either and they certainly won’t be promoted, so it’s done Porto no good but a nice personal accolade for me at least.
Its a good job I’m so far up JBs arse or I’d be kicking right off
Cheers to all the conference managers, that was a really fun season, Neil and Sam I really enjoyed that battle. Commiserations but well played to you both.
cheers as always to JB for taking time to run the games. Always appreciated. More screenshots to come after this comment I imagine
A fairly tight affair this one although it has to be said we did just about deserve the three points. Both sides created a number of goal scoring opportunities but it was my lads that did enough to outscore today's opponents thanks to a goal in each half from Guilavogui and Malo respectively. Just one game to go in what has been a good season for Villarreal.
Also known as ESMS sucks balls 2
Another game we bossed the stats, but concede 4 from 6 shots on target.
it is obviously not meant to be, so roll on next season.
Technically the promotion race isn't over, but it is in my head
Congrats to Timbo for the title, and to Sam for being the least worst runner up
For the lucky ones who were able to snatch tickets to the final match of the season at De Kuip against crosstown rival PSV, were in for a treat. Prior to the match the usual shenanigans between the rough and tumble of fans put a bit of a damper on the festivities, but not enough to spoil the per-game excitement for the more docile of supporters. The match got off to a flying start for Feyenoord who were able to take an early lead on a penalty shot that was converted by P_Goncalves. The goal seemed to have awakened the demons in the visitors who went on a tear for pretty much most of the match, dominating ball possession and attempts at goal. Much to the fans delight, the hosts were the lucky ones this afternoon taking full advantage at every scoring opportunity. No doubt this win is the best gift any hardcore supporter can receive.
The Orange Cup, a round robin affair between PSV, AJAX and Feyenoord was also decided this afternoon with Feyenoord taking it for this season. The encounter was a must win for Feyenoord who were 1 point behind Conference biggies PSV prior to the match.
