BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A game that failed to produce any real excitement and it has to be said that it was Eintracht Frankfurt who had the better of what was a fairly uneventful game of football. With us adopting a counter attack approach the home side looked to have got their tactics spot on but failed to make their superiority count squandering far more efforts on goal than what we did.
A very even game against a top 3 team in Porto, actually the league leaders - shows how much Forest have improved recently. A draw would have been not out of the question here but congrats to Porto on their win and their season so far. Next season I believe Forest can be top 6 in the league.
Fans at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri were privy to a match full of drama. The visitors got off to a positive start with two unanswered goals, the first at the 27th minute mark saw S_Szymanski find M_Pederson who slammed it past keeper I_Meslier. The second came late in the first when midfielder E_Elmas was able to nutmeg his way past defender S_van_Beek and delivered a beauty. Reward for the hosts came midway in the second with Atalanta dominating most of the offensive play, T_Foket’s harmless shot took a lucky bounce straight into the opposing net. The goal seemed to spark new life into the black and blue with A_Onaiwu capitalizing 3 minutes later off a pass by M_Lanzini. Feyenoords attempt to regain the lead a minute later failed when E_Elmas goal was disallowed. A last ditch effort by the visitors late in the match caught Atalanta's defensive line off guard, S_Szymanski pass up the field to P_Goncalves was enough to seal the deal. Feyenoord go home with 3 points.
Feyenoord were slapped with a hefty fine after a fan targeted the referee for disallowing E_Elmas winning goal in the 74th minute.
PSV 2 - 3 Cardiff
After helping PSV to the the top by taking a point from Celtic 2 games ago, i returned the favour by beating them. It was a very fortunate win against both home and tactical advantage. The hosts bossed the stats, but unfortunately, their keeper had a nightmare , conceding 3 goals from 4 shots on target. Cardiff have nothing to play for other than a small increment in prize money, but 7th is probably the pinnacle of what they can acheive. 3rd in the english teams would still be a great acheivement for the team with the 9th highest wages of the 10 sides.
Unlucky Neil
Story of the season, and continues to sum up my luck in ESMS. Villareal deserved absolutely nothing from this game, but as usual our goalkeeper with no arms was useless and despite HA and TA early on, we were miserable again. I am hoping they find a more capable manager in what has been the most disappointing half of a season I can ever remember. Cheers Ian.
A great comeback after being 2 down within 25 minutes!
In an end to end game it was Biraghi scored their first in the 17th minute when our keeper expected the ball to go over but it dipped at the last minute. Strootman was again the provider for their second when he crossed for Boly to fire it home.
2 minutes later Simone had pulled one back for us. Shortly after half time we were level when defender Dunk broke through and scored with a beautiful chip over the keeper. Our winner wasn't quite as aesthetically pleasing, a long pass from Di Maria was pounced on Simone who made no mistake.
The game was pretty even and could've gone either way but after playing well in other games and getting beaten it's pleasing to have one go our way for a change.
I don't think I'll get my news cash for just saying 'ESMS sucks balls', so I'd better add some more
ESMS sucks big balls!
Oh ok, we did all we could tactically, but nah, ESMS said I am not winning this game, so fuck off! More shot/possession etc doesn't matter, it's all about the goals, and my keeper thought he'd gift the opposition 3
Not too much of a surprise tbh, had no confidence whatsoever that PSV would finish above Celtic, would be nice to finish the season positively at least after a poor spell, gg Ed
"We scraped it today, in truth it was a poor game, neither of us looked good enough to win, fortunately like on a couple of occasions this season, our quality shone through, its a surprise PSV lost and we go back above them, but we have had our fair share of results like that this season... it can still go either way, theres nothing really to separate the sides in a quality sense both PSV and Celtic worthy of promotion so whichever gets it fully deserves it, its been a rollercoaster of a season, one we have very much enjoyed, in truth my eyes and the way we have operated for our end of season transfers are firmly focused on next season, just a case of what league we will be playing in... if its EFL, we might have to make more transfers."
