    Roma 0 2 Monaco

Enter the villain John Read to ruin the fairytale ending.

John did us over in our first game and when Monaco scored in the 3rd minute I feared the worst. As the game went on and we kept missing chances we recklessly pushed forward but couldn't make the breakthrough.

PSG easily secure the title with 6 games to go. Despite putting in our best league performance for a long time, it's not been good enough.

    Lazio 0-0 Leverkusen

It felt one way for a lot of the game, but Lazio couldn’t put away their chances, stats wises, shots on target are pretty even. Not helped by the early injury and red card for us.

Unlucky drum, you should have walked away with all 3 points

      Rangers 5 - 2 Juventus

A poor poor showing from us today, back to back losses and the manager seems to have lost his head.

We came into the game missing our GK and for a strange reason, I opted to go all out attacking again, trying to force the goals on our end, only for Rangers to play A too and go 1-0 up immediately.

A C_DeKetelaere double on 11 & 28 minutes put us ahead and we looked good, however the change to P from us allowed Rangers back into the game on 35 minutes and on 47 minutes we were behind again.

Rangers added 2 more on 74 & 88 minutes to round off an impressive win for them. We have to go back to the drawing board as recently we've been poor in the league and luckily so have some of the other teams beneath us as we'd be much lower in the table had they been in better form and we can't rely on good teams to do poorly.

Statistically it was a very even game, which makes me wonder what the result could have been had we had a 22 rated GK instead of our 20 rater backup.

      Good game Burrows.

Sorry Jason, we were rampant here. Clean sheet, ratings up for Haaland and Musiala. 5 goals. We move onto the next one

          PSG 6 - 2 Schalke
Wasnt sure what to expect from Schalke, but set up to cover all bases in case they got a random. Yet again, weetabix fingers conceded from the first shot faced - he really is a liability. We managed to get a brace and went into the break leading 2-1, but it didnt feel a comfortable lead at all. We managed to get a third and was almost immediately pegged back to 3-2 on 61 minutes, and the game seemed precariously balanced. However, the combination of a red to a Schalke DF on 59, and the introduction of super sub, Tadic on 60 completely changed the game with a further 3 goals in a 4 minute period.
5 goals between Felix and Pino takes them both to the top of the Golden boot

A hiccup for Roma extends our lead, but i have an amazing ability of grabbing defeat from the jaws of victory, so i certainly wont be getting complacent, especially since we still have Barceloana to play next - the team that has taken our scalp in both cups, and Real Madrid and Roma in the final 2 games.

            Napoli 1 Barcelona 3

We started like a house on fire and were quickly 2-0 up. Napoli came back into it before we scored again later on to make sure of the points. To be honest there really wasn't much in the game and Napoli can count themselves a little unlucky.

Next up we host the new champions PSG and what an incredible run they've been on. 91 points from 36 games is pretty obscene so you have to give them every respect for that. We've shown before we can live with them but we always need to ride our luck.

It's a bit of a free hit for us though so we'll see what we can do - we'll be missing Anguissa which isn't ideal especially with them being at full strength.

tbh I am pleased we didn’t lose, but think we did do just enough to win.

the game was still tense but it felt like a draw all the way,

                Roma 0 - Monaco 2

Against the run of play we beat Roma when we hosted them earlier in the season and we took the lead in this one as Chris Smalling grabbed only his second goal of the season.

Smalling was actually on the books at Roma for the first match but hadn't made it into the first team squad for that match - having finished the previous season with Monaco.

A somewhat shot-shy attack of Firmino and Ben Yedder only managed 4 shots on target in the match and Gollini in the Monaco goal was equal to all everything the Roma team could throw at him.

Injury to Smalling around the hour mark saw defensive midfielder Pepe come on and play the last hour half hour in defence but this change didnt upset the Monaco rhythm and indeed we grabbed a second through an Immobile diving header to secure the victory and become, I think, the only team to take 6 points off Roma in the league this season.

Good game Derek, and remember the title isn't over yet....

                    RB Leipzig 2 - 4 Inter Milan

RB Leipzig's unbeaten run comes to an end against Inter Milan not unsurprisingly but the points picked up over the unbeaten run gives Leipzig a slender chance of survival with the remaining games left. Two early goals for Inter set the tone with Martial getting RB's first but Milan killed the game with there fourth and a consolation goal from Chalobah.

Real Madrid 3 Atletico Madrid 0

                      GG SteveT

Atletico travelled to a side that we cannot recall ever getting anything from. If early chances had gone in then it could have been different but Real got the early-ish goal against the run of play and after that with tactical changes it turned into another straight forward victory for them. A 27-19 shot count does suggest the result was harsh and once again Atletico just cant score goals.
In fact in the last 4 games they have scored just 1 goal from 67 shots. Sancho has dried up for goals for what seems like half a season now.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "We have probably played better than most of the clubs who have stolen points from Real of late but we got the pounding. The last 4 games have been hugely frustrating as we drop to 06th in the league. We could yet finish anywhere between 03rd and 08th. 09th would take some doing from here".

                      E_Alvarez 24 mex 1 17 19 11 33 1 832 999 5 improved his shooting to 11.
                      M_Diaby 22 fra 1 3 20 18 30 1 799 591 16 improved his shooting to 18

Glik and Coleman were sub par for their minutes meaning their requirements slightly rose.

                        Real Madrid 3 - 0 Atletico Madrid

This game felt very much like we was back to our old selfs. Switched it up tactically and it worked, no TA, but sometimes a change is as good as a rest. Have a lot of respect for Marshy as a manager and a man, GG. Although we are not too bothered about places, let's hope we can kick on a bit now and get that 4th and 3rd spot if possible, or will we revert to type in the next games.

                          RB Leipzig 2 - 4 Inter Milan

a great win away to a team who have been on form and have the best GK in the league for performances this yeat, we stormed into an early lead scoring twice within 15 mins and even though RB Leipzig got one back we had a good control of the game and went in at half time leading 3-2 in a good half of football, although with such a scoreline it could go either way regardless of the stats but we finished the job on the 89th minute with a deserved goal. gg mate
