Teamsheets MUST be in by 3pm on Game Day
BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
Got our bottom smacked tonight by the hand of the lord. We must have been naughty because every shot just seemed to slip through Donnarumma's hand's like a hot knife through butter. Just a shame Roma couldn't do this in the CL quarter finals when it mattered I guess, as PSG look indesructable at the moment and I feel for Derek still chasing the carrot at this stage.
We got well and truly beat though, but to be honest we're just coasting until the end of the season now. There's not a lot of enthusiasm or motive at the moment around these parts.
Our astonishing run continues with our biggest-ever win over Madrid. If this is the last time we play the Ruthless One it's a satisfying way to finish.
In any other season (or any other league) we'd have the title in the bag by now (2.33 points/game is title-winning form apparently).
But we are up against a PSG team who have finally learned how to play. 9 games to claw back 6 points seems unlikely. But the PSG manager is known to have a fragile ego that could crumble at any moment. So we'll keep churning out the results and see what happens.
Sevilla 2 PSG 3
We took a calculated risk putting 3 big guns on the bench and giving a start to new purchase, Rakitic, with the intention of introducing Pino and Tadic later in the game if necessary. It was 28 minutes before our hosts managed a shot on target, and true to form, weetabix fingers just watched it sale past him. We managed to get a swift equaliser, but 9 minutes later we were trailing again, despite having P v L TA at the time. 2 goals in 5 minutes took us into the half time break in front. We managed to endure a further 45 minutes without any key incidents, although I need to check my sheet to see why we didnt switch to C at some point in the 2nd half, which could have been costly. Currently on 2.48 ppg, which i dont ever recall seeing at this point in any previous season, yet we still cant shake off the Roma juggernaut. Some very tough games coming up, whilst Roma get the easier ones. I still see the title going down to the final game.
Fully expected Counter Attacking setup from Mr Waters and I decided that with players out I needed to go for the full tactical bonuses and setup to try to make as many passes/shots as possible. This seemed to go well. Very happy with the performance, win and ab again.
It would appear on the label a poor game but in truth it was poor finishing as 37 shots (20-17) failed to produce a goal. Both keepers had decent games.
Manager Simon Marsh commented "We knew this wouldn't be easy. Its crazy how far Lisbon have dropped off with the same squad that almost won the league last season. They have a top-8 team so I have no idea why they are so low. Overall we had the slight edge but a point isn't the worst result in the world".
Positives were

Good minutes for Glik and Coleman who edge nearer their targets
A key victory here as others around us slipped up but what might it have cost us? With the DPT final up ahead, some may have expected us to rest some players, however that's never been my style and it backfired on us a another 2 players will miss the final bringing our total to 3 missing players.
Onto the game and we felt like we could afford to throw everything at Marseille so started with A, which was matched by Marseille. We took the lead inside 10 minutes and switched up tactics to P while our opponents stuck with A.
This attacking approach got them back into the game on 30 minutes as they made it 1-1 and it was once again A vs A.
Marseille switched up to L just before the break and as the second half was coming to a close it seemed like we would be on the way to a 4th straight league draw, but Antony popped up with his 20th goal of the season to give us all 3 points.
Statistically we were just about the better team. Good game Euan.
With the CL in mind we lined up without our 9 best players and so it was always going to be a tough ask to come away with a positive result in this one. We set up to try and be hard to break down without playing the cowardly D and but for a missed penalty from our 4th choice striker we'd likely have come away with a point. Well played though Jase, you got the job done.
The priority was to have our best players available for the CL final but it is frustrating at having to pretty much gift the opposition a win, even a good guy like Hop. We're dropping down the league which is annoying so we need to try and remedy that in the final few matches.
So next up it's the seemingly invincible PSG. Their manager pointing out earlier how unique their PPG is at this stage of a season. He's unique right enough but has a hazy memory
a great win away, we were in control of the game from start to finish, dominated the stats and scored twice in the first half through Son and got a third in the second half but as has been the case i think we deserved more, we lost a goal in 90th minute which was a little sour as we played so well but an OG that was perhaps unlucky was pretty much the last action of the game. gg mate
