BONANZA DETAILS COMING SOON
A closely fought contest at the London Stadium that we just about did enough in to warrant the three points. An early break through for us with just three minutes on the clock was cancelled out by the home side midway through the first period. We continued to edge the play during the second half and was rewarded with the all important winning goal on the seventy minute mark thanks to a thunderous shot from centre back Hans Hateboer, a nice way to end three defeats on the bounce for Aston Villa.
Another red card certainly had an impact on the game.
I don't know what more to say, when you play a top team with only 10 men the stats will be against you, so of course Chelsea looked the better team etc. But this season we seem to play most games with one hand behind our back.
Nothing to play for now this season. Just count the games away with the players we have and think long and hard about what the future holds
On paper a great win for Chelsea, but as Steve as said, their sending off played a large part in this game as it always does. A very welcome 3pts for us in a fixture we dont usually do well in away from home .Good game mate ,unlucky.
This was a solid result. Going in to the game we were without two of our best players and we were very limited in what and how we could play, so I was a little worried about this game. We played pretty well and took an early lead with our attacking formation. They picked up a red card which admittedly helped us out. We then dominated but once we went two up we just kept missing chances and when they got one back towards the end I had a sinking feeling but we saw it through and come away with a valuable 3 points.
Most of those around us slipped up so it's a great game week for us.
Well played Lee. All the best
Season 2 Premier League Champions - Leeds
Season 2 Conference Champions - Porto
A decent performance, and a vital 3 points as most sides around us either won or drew. We look forward to a European cup semi final next week, which leaves us with a few dilemmas for this weekend's league game, as 4 of our regulars, including top scorer Delort are one booking away from a suspension. The manager hasn't fully decided what to do yet, as we don't want to be spanked by Spurs tomorrow either!
Well our little run has come to an end as we knew it would, you win a few then you always know a defeat is just around the corner and we return back to London feeling a bit hard done by with the result. Performance we were decent enough and on another day we would have nicked a draw but it wasn't to be. Its about getting back to wining ways in the next one now.
We still sit in a good league position but we need to keep pushing the sides around us and putting pressure on them hoping they slip up.
Not sure we warrant a win but against a team like arsenal you take a win in anyway shape or form unlucky to darren obviously id feel hard done by too if shoe on other foot but very happy to grab 3points after 3 losses on bounce unlucky Darren pal good game.
