    Leverkusen 2-1 Dortmund

I would have been gutted to lose this one given the dominant performance but it took a last minute goal for us to get the lead.

Never nice to concede a penalty but played into our favour tactically.

    Good game Niall

      Barcelona 2 - 0 Real Madrid

We had the better of the stats but couldn't take advantage of the fact that Barca had a man sent off for half the game. Barca were the more clinical on the night. Well played Livi see you again soon in the CL semi's which will be Real's focus from here on in.

        RB Leipzig 1 - 1 AC Milan

A decent draw against a top ten side in AC Milan but made life difficult when taking the lead with midfielder Nakamba in the first minute then conceding and then having midfielder McKennie sent off all in a matter of 35 minutes. But Leipzig seemed to cope with ten men and held AC Milan at bay for the rest of the game. Another point towards survival.

          Napoli 2 PSG 7
Another poor performance from EFL1s 3rd worst performing goalkeeper, conceding 2 goals from 6 shots faced. Fortunately, we are averaging 3 a game at the other end. We conceded in the first minute from the first action of the game and struggled to get a hold. After a relatively even first half, that saw talisman, Yeremy Pino, leave the field through injury, we went into the break with a slender lead. The half time team talk clearly did the trick as we came out and scored a further four without reply.
Next up is a visit to AC Milan, who are one of the teams that have beaten us this season, so we will be looking to exact revenge.
Even though we are on a good run, Roma are on a better one, and we cannot shake them off. Whilst we are drawing games, they are winning against stronger opponents, and it is beginning to look like the final game of the season could potentially be the title decider.

            Schalke 1 2 Roma

Whilst PSG continue to sweep opponents aside with ease - we huff and puff our way through games.

Chris will be gutted with this result. Schalke led for 70 minutes & despite our 30 chances it took until the 77th minute to score.

Madrid continue to crumble spoiling the dream finish of the Big 3 going head-to-head
(given the 2 games that would have been extremely tasty)

            gg Chris

Sevilla lose again .. despite another even game in terms of shots and possession ... rumours that Raingod may walk now to give another manager a chance of keeping them up ...

                Inter Milan 5 - 0 Lyon

Perhaps our best game this season, we raced into a 3-0 lead before half time and dominated from start to finish, we are playing some great football this season but with erractic results, when it comes together like this its very pleasing, we kept a clean sheet and increase our goal difference which is 3rd best in the league and 2nd best in terms of goals scored, we continue to improve but we must keep winning points, its early doors but we have opened a 10 point gap over AC Milan who sit outside the Champions League spots and we are confident of retaining our status as a Champions League club next season, the goal now is to chase down Atletico, Madrid and Juventus and finish as high as possible, off on a tangent here but pleasing day for us, gg mate

                  Barcelona 2 Real Madrid 0

One of the more irrelevant Clasicos to be honest with neither side really challenging for the title and no doubt both had one eye on the Champions League semi next week - that said it's always nice to come out on top.

We did it the hard way too going down to ten men before HT after yet another red card for Anguissa. Brilliant player but an absolute liability disciplinary wise. He'll now miss the 1st leg of the CL semi which is a big blow given his talent.

Unsurprisingly Madrid had the better of the game but we held firm and came away with a good 3 points.

We'll roll up to face Roma's Galacticos like lambs to the slaughter on Sunday but it is what it is - we just can't risk losing any more of our better players.

Unlucky Steve, see you again shortly

                    Ateltico Madrid 1 Sevilla 0

                    GG Raingod

Not nice seeing the old team Sevilla struggling at the bottom of the league. They are competitive but just not getting any luck and this game was very unfortunate for them. Atletico's line up and tactics just did not work on the night leading to a very close game. A shot count of 15-12 could have gone anyway but Atletico sneaked it with a Diaby goal.

Manager Simon Marsh commented "It was a poor performance but we got the result which does massively strengthen our top-8 position. There are still 14 games to go, 42 points to play with but the 12point cushion looks nice right now. We will continue to try and apply pressure on the 3rd 04th placed teams but we do have two very difficult away games up next".

                    K_Mbabu 28 aut 1 20 17 5 27 1 584 803 18 - improved his shooting to 5
                    J_Sancho 23 eng 1 2 16 22 22 1 1 855 143 - improved his tackling to 2 - he is tackling more times than he is scoring lately!

                      Juventus 2 - 0 Real Sociedad

Coming into this game, seeing Sociedad take a point from the likes of PSG & Bayern Munich in recent weeks we knew they'd be a tough nut to crack but we felt with their weak strikers we could afford to press forwards a little more than usual and went for the all out attack set up.

Our opponents looked to keep things tight with a back 7 essentially and opted to play the long ball game.

After a back and forth opening, it was us who took the lead through F_Wirtz, who is enjoying another good spell in front of goal as he notched his 18th goal of the season from midfield.

This forced a few changes from Sociedad and on the half hour mark, they changed tactics to match us at A vs A.

The rest of the first half showed us being the better team but failing to really take control of the game as the half ended 1-0 to us.

The second half started how the first did, with both teams going at each other but shortly after this we started to take control of the game, looking to see the win out but memories of PSG & Bayern were in the back of our minds so we knew we needed to remain calm until the job was done.

This came in the form of another F_Wirtz effort to seal the 3 points just 6 minutes from time.

Statistically we were much the better team with 24 shots to our visitor's 11 and with 60% possession. We only managed 12 shots on target however which is disappointing however 24 shots created is a good sign.

                      Good game Freddie.

                        Schalke 1 2 Roma

Thought we deserved a point in this one but much improved since Roma destroyed earlier in the season. Managed to pick up a point from our last two against Roma and Madrid while getting some valuable minutes for some squad players. Schalke is still in the race for safety, that's our primary goal for the season. On to the next.

                          Juventus 2-0 Sociedad

Like Andy said after drawing with some big teams I was hopeful we could take something from this, sadly I was wrong. We never really looked like scoring unfortunately and the forward line might be an area we need to improve.
Ultimately though we were up against a team who I think alongside PSG will run the league in a couple of seasons.
                          Played Andy, good game.

                            Lisbon 2-1 lazio.

we went into this with a mixture of thoughts. Did I attack of not.

well we somehow (as usual) messed it up. We have Lisbon a free pass to look really good when in truth both teams weren’t.

Semedo (again) our top scoring defender with the goal for lazio,

but it was our old hero Juan Mata who delivered the killer goal.

Nevermind can’t beat them all I suppose

                            gg
