Lazio 1 - 4 Juventus (Juventus win 8-1 on aggregate)

With the tie all but won from the first leg win, we used this game to go on the search for abs, and minutes for players in need and it appears that our hosts had the same idea.

The first 18 minutes saw Lazio control the game and things were looking a little uncomfortable, even at 4-0 on aggregate, however we put those nerves to bed as club captain Nuno_Mendes slotted the ball away to give us the lead on the night and any hopes of a Sheffield Wednesday style comeback had gone.

Lazio then surprisingly switched tactics to L, perhaps looking to try something new or to just stop the bleeding but it didn't help as 8 minutes later we were 2-0 up through long time Roma target A_Isak.

K_Mbappe halved the deficit on the night on the half hour mark but at this point the aggregate score was 6-1 and the mountain was too much to climb surely.

Into the second half and we kept coming forwards, wave after wave and on 72 minutes, F_Wirtz restored our 2 goal lead on the night before wrapping up the scoring in stoppage time with a 93rd minute effort to make it 4-1.

Statistically, Lazio were the better team, however they were wasteful in front of goal as we landed 13 of our 16 shots on target while they landed just 8 of their 19 on target.

It's a shame for Lazio & Drum that the first leg was while their GK was out which led to the 4-0 in the first leg. We could be talking about a totally different outcome had D_de_Gea been available in Turin.

    Good game Drum.

On another note, with the semi finals to look forwards to and the remaining teams sitting in 17th, 18th & 18th in their leagues respectively....we will be heavily favoured to win this competition and I'm going to pile the pressure on myself and the players and state here and now that if we fail to win this competition I will resign as manager of Juventus at the end of the season (Jhop get your application ready)

      Leeds 2 - 3 Wet Spam

I won’t lie I’m gutted. We were the better team in both legs head and shoulders deserve to go through. In a cup competition you need luck to be on your side and sadly for us the only luck we got was bad luck. We went down against the run of play and then turned it around and made our supremacy count, then the red card to Caicedo and that was that we conceded two and got dumped out.
You need the stars to align in the cup comps and they didn’t for us, gutting mainly because we will be back in the CL next season and two seasons in a row where we should have had this trophy in our pockets and have been unfortunate both times. Never mind, bigger and better things afoot next season.

All due credit to Todd Nigel, well done mate, I’d love to see you beat juventus in the final!

haha we had a chat that we would both pop A in the starting lineup, juve are too strong for us so they had the big buffer to play A and we’ll lazio needed to play for goals,

we briefly rallied around and tried to create an us moment but in truth we were already beaten.

GL Andy, should be a juve trophy but who knows…….
